The DSN 232 I bought from Dorn arrived today. He told me one of the bar screws/threads was stripped and wouldn't come out, so I thought I better investigate.

After a bit of fiddling around, I popped out the screw, and had a result as the screw, not the thread, is stripped :)

I asked Davidsen if he can supply replacement screws, in the meantime, anybody know if the Panatime screws fit?

A bit of patience with 1200 wet and dry paper, and half an hour with a Cape Cod, and I'm pretty pleased with the result, what do you guys think?

What is a 1200 wet and dry paper? Is it some sort of sand paper? Do you use it like sandpaper? I would like to fix some of my watches' scratches. Thanks.

Yes, like sandpaper, but metal oxide and 1200 is very, very fine. Called wet and dry because you can use it wet or dry.
I used a loupe whilst sanding, sanded deepest over the scratches and blended it out into the undamaged parts, then half an hour of Cape Cod.

Hmm, so DSN would sell a known defective and - I say- visibly damaged product and let you have your fun fixing it for the full price you paid? Wow, good to know - I long stopped buying his stuff as I kept on getting parts that didn't fit together, cases that had huge gaps with his CGs, dials with badly bleeding lume, movements that didn't work etc etc etc. he has always been super friendly and willing to replace/fix etx but the whole sending back and forth things is just way too tedious so in the end I just have up...good to know I made the right decision based I these reports;)

No, go read my first post again, I bought it from Dorn, NOT Davidsen, second hand and knowing it had defects ;-)

Awesome work! You'd be surprised about the damage you can remove with simple tools. I do this kind of work with a four-way nail file that I stole from my wife. Now I get them at her beauty supply store. I also use them to do Pre-V case shaping and cannon pinion flattening.

In response to my posed question, the Panatime screws do not fit without work, and even with work they protrude from the case more than the DSN screws.

Panatime without work

Panatime with work
