new timewalker model

i dont know if this is new in the genuine but they have a timewalker non chrono "large automatic" model. has the date at 6oclock. its very nice and simple. i saw that there is a replica of it, already... wow. I think Trust has it but i need to find it with a different dealer and then ill get it. on his website it states it has the 2836. i guess that keeps it nice and simple

Hi,

this version has existed as gen since the beginning of the Timewalker range.

Saw this "new" rep too, it's the simplified (but accurate) version of the well known GMT (which I own).

It obviously has no noticeable flaw, unlike the GMT.

Flaws of the GMT : closed caseback and white markers instead of silver.
Flaws of the chrono : maybe the dial (too much markers), the dummy recessed pusher at 10, the visible uncorrect movement, although it's difficult to notice if not side by side

I have no problem believing they can be sold as gens on ebay, be really careful. The only way to spot the faxe is to open the watch and see it's not a Montblanc caliber but an ETA (or Sellita ?). Also to get the papers duely stamped etc...

Which I less agree is that the simple version is sold the same price as the GMT. Too bad

Anyway, the Timewalker reps are really damn accurate and gorgeous as a watch.

I've been looking at a MB rep for a while but am having a hard time justifying the high price ... comparatively speaking.

Are they worth the $$$ ?

Tempted to take a punt on a cheaper on, like the <$100 ones that Josh does, but even in pics they look pretty nasty including a blatent typo on the rear of one rep .. 'MNOT BLANC'

They are worth the money IMO.
If you want to justify the price against the gen, it's about 1/10th. The best bargain I saw on ebay was around 800 dollars, and that's very rare.

Regarding the cheaper version, it has nothing to do : lugs are different, the crown, the dial, the colour of the datewheel, the bracelet, the cr*appy markings, non working GMT or chrono etc... As a watch it might be not bad, but as a rep it's simply a failure.

Look at the lugs : they are plain in the cheap version and "drilled" in the higher end rep.

i had both the silver and black cheap versions back in the days, i bought them because i loved the TW but didnt blieve they were actually gonna make a 1 to 1 rep of it, once i saw tehy did, i sold those too, luckily
the tw rep now, is so bloody accurate,
yes date fone and faux date pusher, but thats it, to me the movt looks the same, it has the same rotors, i know one is asian versus swiss (what movt does the genuine use)

anyways, thsi simple version i think ill get for my dad, he doesnt need to deal with complications of chrono etc,

Mont Blanc Timewalker Big Automatic Review

My First impression when I received the watch was WOW! Great polish, perfect looking
face, nice bracelet! I waited a couple of days to live with the watch and get over the first rep
excitement to give an unbiased review; I also visited an AD to handle the Genuine.

Watch Face:

First, the Face looks to be identical to the gen. The texture of the face is very nice; Numbers look
accurate to the Gen in size and spacing. The date box looks to be the same
size. Only Difference here is the Lack on AR on the Rep. I didn’t get to see how bright
the lume is on the Gen, but I’m sure that the rep is lacking. The Rep’s lume was ok on the
hands, but very faint on the hour markers.

Watch Case:

The polish of the Case is excellent. All Engravings are nice and sharp. Everything is
spelled correctly No Mnot Blanc like the cheaper versions. The Mont Blanc logo on the
Faux screws look a tiny bit off center.

Crown:

The Mont Blanc logo on the crown looks great. It’s made of the hard material not like of
the other reps with Stickery logos. The shape and size of the crown are all like gen. Only
the texture of the crown seems to lack the sharp detail of the gen.

Bracelet:

The bracelet is Very nicely polished but a little dirty right out of the box (expected). It has the Mont
Blanc logotype on the clasp just as Gen. Unlike other lower quality reps, not all the links
have holes on the sides (just like Gen). But the finish of the sides of the link is lacking.
You can see the outline of where the hole was, but was not completely polished out. The
feel of the bracelet is very good. It just needs to be cleaned and oiled to match Gen.

I am very pleased with my purchase, just wish that it had AR!

Thats a clean looking watch. I have held a few of the chrono versions, is this one as thick as the chrono version?

I bought the watch from josh. The Chrono version is 2mm thicker then the large automatic.

Thx for sharing, this really shows how accurate is this rep. Pity for the AR, but the other versions don't have it as well. Probably less noticeable with the white version.
Which I don't understand is why they make it the same price as the GMT version, which is exactly the same but has a modified ETA movement with a working GMT hand. To be perfect, they should sell it for around 250. But OK, it's "only" 30 dollars.

just so you guys know.. i've been jonesin for an all-ss watch lately since my HBB has been getting all if not most of my wrist-time.. anyhows to make a long story short.. i jus miss having an all-ss watch around since the UPO I have is on a leather strap

basically my categories were simple.. i wanted an all-ss watch that had some bling to it (aka polish) so it came down to.. the new tag daydate, louis vitton, breitling superocean, that pam model with the ss bracelet, bce, vc overseas, ap roo.. eventually I chose the Timewalker because there is a simplicity in its design that is amazing to behold

when i choose my reps.. i always go with my heart, this way i'm never dissapointed.. and my eyes kept going back to the Montblanc..

it has exactly what I want.. Simple yet completely enthralling..

I can't wait til I receive my Timewalker and post my impressions :twisted:

Hows the crown compare to the gen ?? It looks like it stick out a little bit..I think the GEN crown got a screw down crown...and I think the Chrono version too got a stick out crown ...not like tight screw down crown...just what I think .. is that true ?
