New SF PAM 423 Power Reserve--New Movement?

First post here on RWI. Just got back into Reps while travelling in Turkey and looking at all the eye candy in Istanbul’s Bazaar shops. Picked up a cheap 21j PAM power reserve based on a Miyota. Really liked the functional indicator but the fantasy nature left me in a bind… easy tells everywhere. So, research led me here. 6 Reps later… including one M2M purchase, I finally found a decent question to ask…

An SF PAM 423 just appeared on Puretime’s site yesterday (11/22/15). It looks like it may have a functional power reserve but it’s in a whole different price range than the cheap reps. It’s $378, or $428 with sapphire domed crystal. But I don’t recognize the movement. It looks like a P3000 decorated 6947 hand wind movement, not the normal cheap 21j Miyota or higher-end DSN-style 7750 with a Soprod. Could this be the first of a new generation of functional power reserve reps? I’ve emailed Puretime to ask if its functional but not heard back yet. Here’s the link:

http://www.puretime.watch/product/p...p-p3000-super-clone/?sent=yes#product-request

And its by no means First CLass, etc. Someone in the SF factory’s QC missed “Jesels” on the movement plate’s “21 Jewels.” Currrent version of the Gen is also a P.3002 not P.3000. Hour hand also has possible wide lume, etc. Other issues. I’d be interested in Members’ thoughts on this SF release's likely movement if it is indeed a functional PR. Beginning of something new or just same old lipstick on a pig?

Anyway, great forum. I really appreciate the Moderators’ efforts, ALE, Trailboss, etc., and great content from everyone. Thanks.

Thanks for posting that and for your kind words

Rep movement is not a decorated, it is an inaccurate P.3000 Clone4, since gen has P.3002

I think that PR is not working

Show where it says that. I see no claim of working power reserve (we are talking about the power reserve on the dial). The actual superclone movement obviously can store enough power in the double barrel construction to last more than 72 hours (I've ran my SC P.3000 based watches for around 96 hours - 4 days). Good thing the factory corrected the P.3000 text to the correct P.3002, just the same.

I would be pleasantly surprised but at the same time I seriously doubt it. There is no visible difference from the P.3000 superclone and this one that has only P.3002 engraved on the bridge. And Angus would make a big announcement of it over at RepGeek if it were true, not only through email, like the new P.9000 movement clone with copied gen functions.

Technically, I understand and agree with your opinion.

I heard the PR indicator is not working, but there will be a ZF with a working one.

So it sounds like ZF is turning out to be the savior for PAM reps. The PAM617/629 with the correct DLCed Titanium case vs the V6F DLCed SS case and now the PAM423 with a working power reserve. Good news if this is true.

When reading threads like this one. I get the impression that people often mix up power reserve and power reserve indicator.

But a watch, even a rep, should always have a working power reserve else there is something seriously wrong about the watch. :)

P.3000 -> P.3002 already corrected
21 JESELLS -> 21 JEWELLS already corrected

Power Reserve indicator NO working

The movement as commented by mysterio is a P.3000 Clone4 with P.3002 engraved inscription instead of P.3000

If this is true, they will leave the door wide open for really interesting projects like the 507 and 090. 2016 will yet again be an interesting year for reps.

Hm. But we also heard about a P5000 clone from ZF and this is a decorated P3000SC...
I don't know.

The power reserve indicator is definitely faux. It's just for show. Angus confirmed it by email when I asked. The video doesn't seem to show any different locations for it either. It seems glued to about 10:30. Hope this puts this SF 423 question to rest.

It'll be interesting to see the actual working power reserve models that are rumored to be in the works. Anyone have any more info on those?

According to watchbus, the working PR PAM423 will be released "After New Year", now it is a question of which one (although this will be most likely the Lunar or Chinese New Year)? :lol:

So Jan 1, or Feb 8. But either way it's after the Holiday TD special coupons expire. :dry: But a beautiful and much anticipated PAM. After all the Davidsen and Honpo reps of PRs I hope the factories do the first mass produced PR Rep justice. Gen pic...
