New rep!! You don't need to toy with your watches especially if you only have 1 currently! :D:

Plus, you can always just buy an old used 21J movement when you get bored and watch some tutorials. I've always preferred to learn things myself because I can go at my own pace.

Not to mention the pam111N is a pretty awesome watch!

I already bought a ETA 2801-2 off of the bay for cheap, but i still need tools to tinker with it.

The real cost of the TZ course is the movement and the tools, not the course itself. You already have the movement, which is great as the one for the course is expensive.

http://watchbitz.com.au give a discount for forum members and thier prices can be quite interesting.

Theres a free course here but he didn't get to finishing it - goes most of the way though

Personally I've found it far more interesting in choosing reps in knowing how they work and feeling I can take care of minor repairs.

I have got really snobbish towards people selling watches who haven't taken the back off because they "do not have the tools"

The first thing I did when I received my watch was opened the back to verify the movement I ordered and found out the dust cover was missing. Then because the watch was not accurate I did a course adjustment using the Kello app to get it +/- 5 sec. I was was sweating bullets when I first adjusted it because of how much it moved with the smallest touch.

Thanks for the info I will look to see what the shipping will cost from Australia

If you're a shopper then by all means get a new REP, if you are a tinkerer and really like the mech-auto depth of the watches go for the course.
After you're done with it you'll have a better appreciation for the watches and you'll even be able to work on them yourself which is always welcome specially with REP watches.

Since you only have one replica at the moment, I would go with the replica. Also look into buying a few cheap watches (possibly vintage) to tinker around with, so that you can develop some confidence and skills before mucking around with your more expensive replicas.

I do have a movement to mess around with and I also have a Swatch Irony w/ ETA 2841 that i am willing to sacrifice. I want to avoid buying a cheap rep because i feel like i am just throwing my money away. Thank you for the advice I still have until the Holiday is over to decide. I think i might try to get a new rep and then a few basic tools to work with.

It looks to me like you already bought the mov't, so I say get the tools you need and do the class.

On a different note, I tried to vote and it said I already did. This is definitely the first time I've seen this thread. There's mischief afoot....

I just want to thank everyone for their input and help. Thank you Daytona4me for your help. I searched around the internet and was able to buy enough tools from esslinger website and still be able to purchase a new Rep. Again Thanks for everyone's help!
