Aloha Everyone,

Just got a PAM 504 from ZF last week and this is my first Radiomir. I've seen writeups and other posts about 380s, 292s, and I know there are some sketchy situations where the strap lugs break or strip.

Since this is my first Radiomir, does anyone have any advice on some things I should do to ensure my Radiomir stays in good shape? (i.e. Loctite on screws, etc.)

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Mahalo,

Use loctite on the lug screws at the bottom they easily come off.

Loctite on the screws is a must (just a dab, let it sit for a minute and then screw in) and make sure you screw down all the way -- they should go a millimeter or two into the case and not sit flush with it. Panatime is a great resource for bars and screws if you lose or need to replace any. Also, a 27mm strap when you upgrade that is great compared to a 26mm strap -- just looks better. Lastly, be careful when screwing down or unscrewing the crown. The threads on the tube are week and its better to take an extra 30 seconds to make sure you aren't cross-threading or putting too much strain on it. Finding a new tube is a bitch!

Always remove screws over a Tupperware container. It sucks searching the carpet for them.

Or do it in a empty completely white room with large white floor tiles with white grout. Barring that, over a tupperware container. Hahaha

Hahaaha, I keep a large magnet handy too.

Tried the magnet when I lost a black screw into a black 50mm shag pile rug with no success. My neighbour had a Dyson which did the trick. I now own a Dyson too.
