Hi everybody I am a PP lover who has been trying to find the perfect nautilus since months, and is now fed up:yawn:
No matter if it is going to cost me 600–1000 euros, I have to assemble a replica of the Nautilus 5711ss with Blue Dial as close to the gen as possible.
Of course I read a lot on this forum and around on the net, and decided to use as a starting base the Nautilus Jumbo 5711 Blue Dial on Bracelet Japanese MIYOTA 9015
http://www.intime.co/patek-philippe...ue-dial-on-bracelet-japanese-miyota-9015.html
1) I talked to Ryan and he assured me that it is in stock and the dials have now been corrected and updated on this BP factory, all right.
2)The bracelet is satisfying to me, since has no extra pins and pretty good finish
3) 9.5 mm case thickness is also great to me
4) What really turned me down are of course the blue–greenish shade of the dial ( BP has a good pattern but awful color) and most of all the awful dial pattern ( on the V3 rep that has a much better but not perfect blue shade)
I'm here to ask you an advice since I want to find a "tailor made" dial. Is there anyone who is specialized in the production of watch dials ?
I was also thinking about taking the BP dial that has a good pattern and bring it to someone to paint it, get new decals or maybe hand-paint/laser print "Patek Philippe/Geneve/SWISS/ all-around dots", and of course positioning the 12hr markers closer would also be on the to do list.
5) I really don't care about the movement decorations since I'm thinking about substituting the back crystal with a closed back like on the 3700. Where do you think I can find one?
6) Finally I think that in addition to the dial replacement a new better crystal is needed, which one would you guys suggest?
Thank you in advance for your help, and hope we will finally manage to have a good rep, that of course is going to be still far from the gen because of the thickness of the case, overall finishing and case diameter, but that will be fine enough not to be spotted so easily at a dinner table.
Hope you enjoy my project and,
please don't think I'm completely crazy:whistling:
