I'd be veary of those gold stick-on mov't numbers. They tend to fall off, and having them placed so close to the mainspring calls for nothing but trouble...

The C3 lume they used is unfortunately very green, I liked the old 253 rep better, although the indices had mediocre lume, they were white like gen's and not green.

just my 2 cents... 8)

cheers,
babola

I prefer the older version right now, I'd be happy if they could just get the blue hand more accurate though.

since you asked for opinions...

the watch--rep or gen--does nothing for me. it's too busy for my taste, and represents the modern-vendome-mega-corp panerai getting some share of every market...including the busy, chrono watch market. the dial, subdials, blue hands...actually, all those hands! well, not only does it not please me asthetically, but it fails to be readily legible. it'd take me a few seconds to figure out what time it is.

I love my 253.

I wear it almost everyday, since I got it and it keeps very accurate time. My chrono is always on, because I like the second hand to be in perpetual motion, and so far no problems.

Since mine is on a SS bracelet, it is a HEAVY piece.

This watch is EXTREMELY high on my wish list. Please post a review if you buy it. I would love to see a wrist shot. Thanks.

How did you attach the SS bracelet to that case?

Thanks.

I have a 253 from Andrew and it is a superb watch. This latest version does not seem that much different at all, other than it is 50.00 cheaper.

The obvious and massive difference is the second markers are there, the bad thing is they are twice as high and wide as the gen making the older version look much nicer in my opinion. Its a shame that after trying to rectify the missing tick marks that they have done it only not right. I dont know whether to get the last one, the current one or just sit it out and wait for a dial with the correct ticks (if it ever happens)????!!
