Hey guys,
Wanted to share a couple of things I learned with my new Pam 111
1) I was able to press the cg pin almost completely flush by placing the cg on a countertop and rolling a steel spoon over the pin with some pressure.
2) polishing the crystal with some toothpaste, cotton cloth and elbow grease makes a very noticeable improvement in clarity and shine. Infact, I had intended to have the crystal replaced but after a good polish it's not necessary.

Can't really say anything about the clarity on that crystal. As for the CG pin, it is flush. The gen pin though has a chamfer all around the edge of the pin and is subsequently pressed flush with the CG. Here's a tutorial of the mod.

Well, at the very least, it is on par with some of the pictures I've seen on the PAM111V4 QC thread. Maybe it's the angle of the shot or the camera used.

I may be a little biased but I think it smooths out th AR.

How exactly did you clean the crystal? Did you remove the movement?

Just polished the outside. I realize pics don't do the job justice but I stil stand behind the observation. It really does make a difference.

As long as you believe that it does, then that's all that matters. The reason I ask is because of your statement that what you did smooths out the AR, which would be impossible to do without removing the movement because most PAM reps only have AR coating applied on the inside of the crystal.
