New IWC Special Edition from new factory came out.


What is your opinion?

I loved it, but the silence on RWI scares me... something is not right... Maybe the fact that there are only 12 of them gens made , which would mean for others that you are more likely to have a rep than a gen, unless you are Tech Billionaire or a Saudi Prince, who also happen to be watch collectors and pre- ordered this and bla bla...

Yes. The turbine is not right. It has flat propellers, the gen has curved propellers. A big tell, so I personally won't buy the watch although it's a beauty.

On a very basic level, it aesthetically doesn't appeal to me.

Unless you regularly find yourself in such rarefied company, I don't think you need worry about being "called out". To the 99% of people out there, it's just another interesting watch. The worst you're likely to get out of them is: "What's IWC?"

The supposed "turbine" has a 1-D depth, not 3D and doesn´t move, it´s just glued on. As it has no function it could at least "look" like the gen.
Although ´the front is interesting for some minutes, there are just too many other IWCs that appeal more to me.

If You say so, on the video I can clearly see the front seconds turning as well as the balance wheel, the back upper right turbine to me looks stopped (on the rep)
And it´s not just a bit flat, it´s flat as a pancake

what?? u expect the main spring turning as fast as the balance wheel or second hand? main spring only turns if u start winding it. same as gen

I see, although I expected a turbine to be something movingfast as hurricane, like this tourbillon

Maybe if the rep movement deco was closer to gen I had gotit earlier, too. Learned again, that You always have to check and never assume, even when it´s a limited 12 piece edition. (When You fast-browse for Marc (Markus) Buhler You just get aircraft turbines or precisely this rep as hits.) I feel like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
What I do know, is that rep malers are able to do much better than what they did on this one...

so I will just continue to enjoy my less sophisticated but very nice Fa. Jones movement, rep on the left, a recent IWC gen on the right

I bought one... I think it's fun. But I'm not trying to impress people with my reps. I drive a Kia.

got mine in the mail... I really like it. The turbine blades are slightly bent, just not as much as gen. and of course, the center is flat. The hour hand would not have cleared otherwise. The only thing that bothers me is the hands are silver lined, when they should be black.

With that "Turbine" on 6, it looks more like a swatch. ;-)
I like almost every IWC-Design, but this is really not for me.
