New Heuer Monaco's Seiko VK Quartz chrono on Trusty Time, what do we think?

Since I have been looking for a discussion on these new watches that appeared last week, but haven't found any, I'd like to know what is the general consensus about these watches.
Looks like they don't have automatic written on the dial, but are there any other glaring flaws (apart from being quartz)?
Here are the links with videos:

I have been looking for a high grade Monaco for some time with no success. Recently I picked up a quartz M2M to take care of the itch and have enjoyed it but I would love an automatic with all functionality of the gen.

I was looking through DHgate and saw Monaco Bamford's. Case looks good and dial (very generally) - unless I am mistaken or there is more than one style Bamford, the pushers are on the wrong side of the case - PLUS - Date window is too small and not color coordinated to dial secondary colors . Probably limitations of the movement for pushers and date window - claims a 7750 movement.

Interesting looking. But it makes me wonder why they can't give us a decent Monaco Calibre 12 or 02 with the 7750. It would put pushers in correct position. Would not have to have a funky color date wheel like the Bamford and they could fix the type on the dial.

I have a quartz Calibre 12 rep and it is very - very nice for the $100ish I paid. Nice blue leather band with deployant clasp, case has nice finishing, and other than missing type elements the dial looks really good.

I think I'll order the blue one. I've always wanted a Monaco. I'm under no illusion that this is a super rep or anything, but I'm guessing by the looks of it that for $150 I'll be happy.

Tag & no real automatic is not getting much love here, but I'll give it a go & report back in a few weeks.

I've bought a number of these Vk64 Monaco's from DH Gate. For the price (on dhgate) they are excellent value for money. And they are free shipping. I wouldn't bother with using a "TD" because you'll get the same product anyway. Plus you'll be paying so much more. Just choose a seller on Dhgate with good feedback.

I'll try to load up the Monaco watches I have

Size wise; they are 40mm wide and 14mm thick.
The crown on the left is dummy. The real crown is recessed on the right.

22mm lugs. Typically the strap is at least 15mm longer than gen.

Typically the case back is 1mm too thick, as is the square bezel. If I had access to a milling machine or bed grinding machine, I'd shave those pieces down, just to reduce the overall thickness. Not because it feels big, but because of the visual impact. It looks too thick... the gen crystal is more pronounced, with a shallow bezel.

Other than that, the watch is a great beater. Pick up and go. :)

So just out of curiosity. House much did you pay on dhgate for the Monaco?

DHGate ones seem to be way more accurate for less. Better recessed crown and colors seem more accurate. Currently waiting for mine. The seller sent me a nice QC video.

Paid $96.

Good catch! It looks just like mine. :)

I notice that with the Monaco's I've bought there's a difference with the dial text.
One says AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH
Another says QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH
and two are just CHRONOGRAPH

one of them (the 50th anniversary green one) has the correct HEUER dummy crown
whereas the others have the TAG Heuer box and triangle crown.

If these were gens, all the variations would make them collectors items! Lol

I’ve pulled the trigger on the classic blue... there isn’t much ‘love’ indeed from the factories about this model and this seems to be the best alternative available.

Isn’t the crown on the wrong side?

I think these are a bargain. The crown at 3 is really ingenious. I had to go back and look at the pictures again to convince myself. I'd not buy an automatic when these are available personally.
