New GMT eta 2836 movement with Rolex date wheel .

Hello Members,

Has anyone tried this New GMT eta 2836 movement with Rolex date wheel ?
No DWO needed .

I ordered one to try it out on my 1675 build .

Those have been around for 10+ years bro. Usually marketed as HZ6460, they are used in most rep Rolex GMTs that don't have true clone movements.

Since the GMT hand is on the bottom of the stack, they are an incorrect hand stack (ICHS) for 5 and 6 digit models. But for your 1675 build it will be correct, other than the GMT hand being independent on this movement and not on the gen movement.

Thank you , I’m actually going to use this movement on a Blue Sub dial that has the Rolex date window spacing, I didn’t want to use DWO , so decided to give this a try . My 2nd project will be the 1675 .

Make sure your case is for a 2836, not a 2824 or the movement stem height won't be compatible.

Also you will need to remove the GMT wheel - its hand post won't fit through a non-GMT dial's center hole.

Great looking parts. Post a level close up pic of the crown side if you don't know which movement it's for (2824 or 2836). The crown height will tell.

I've been into blue dial Subs a lot recently. The blue strap is going on a different watch, it's a temp fit on the TT. Nice little variety though.

Your angle of view is too high and the bottom of the crown not lit well enough but that looks like a 2824 (compatible with 3135) case.

The crown sits noticeably below the mid case with a 2836.

If I’m unable to use the 2836 , plan B will be a vs3135 I have (2) inbound.

In what position do you remove the winding stem on a VR3135 ? Iv had issues with the vs3135 keyless works when removing in Winding position.

The Movement is running great out the box , however the date wheel is of low quality.
