Just got this for a killer deal here in town for 200 dollars. Its brand new but had a dent in the back corner so I talked them down considerably! It's an Elextrolux wine cooler but I plan on storing beers in here. For the longest time I've wished I could store and collect some beers that have come out on certain years but the wife said they took up too much room so I always had to drink them. Well finally I got my fridge to start collecting :)

It's not much but I had to go and get a few Three Floyds today and the misses brought be back a few brews when she was in England two weeks ago. Now just to fill it up!

Actually a wine fridge with a low setting of 45 should be find.. A handy guide for beer temps..

Only beer that needs to be served ice cold is piss beer(bud, busch, miller etc..) And this is to "freeze" your taste receptors into realizing your drinking piss beer.

Very cold (0-4C/32-39F): Any beer you don’t actually want to taste. Pale Lager, Malt Liquor, Canadian-style Golden Ale and Cream Ale, Low Alcohol, Canadian, American or Scandinavian-style Cider.

Cold (4-7C/39-45F): Hefeweizen, Kristalweizen, Kölsch, Premium Lager, Pilsner, Classic German Pilsner, Fruit Beer, brewpub-style Golden Ale, European Strong Lager, Berliner Weisse, Belgian White, American Dark Lager, sweetened Fruit Lambics and Gueuzes, Duvel-types

Cool (8-12C/45-54F): American Pale Ale, Amber Ale, California Common, Dunkelweizen, Sweet Stout, Stout, Dry Stout, Porter, English-style Golden Ale, unsweetened Fruit Lambics and Gueuzes, Faro, Belgian Ale, Bohemian Pilsner, Dunkel, Dortmunder/Helles, Vienna, Schwarzbier, Smoked, Altbier, Tripel, Irish Ale, French or Spanish-style Cider

Cellar (12-14C/54-57F): Bitter, Premium Bitter, Brown Ale, India Pale Ale, English Pale Ale, English Strong Ale, Old Ale, Saison, Unblended Lambic, Flemish Sour Ale, Bière de Garde, Baltic Porter, Abbey Dubbel, Belgian Strong Ale, Weizen Bock, Bock, Foreign Stout, Zwickel/Keller/Landbier, Scottish Ale, Scotch Ale, American Strong Ale, Mild, English-style Cider

Warm (14-16C/57-61F): Barley Wine, Abt/Quadrupel, Imperial Stout, Imperial/Double IPA, Doppelbock, Eisbock, Mead

Hot (70C/158F): Quelque Chose, Liefmans Glühkriek, dark, spiced winter ales like Daleside Morocco Ale.

Rudy, you are more than welcome, anytime.

As far as great beers I don't see the point in ICE cold unless you are downing it. Point in case Goose Island Bourbon County Barley Wine actually opened up to more flavors such as carmel as it got warmer.

I have to go to UK for some test. We might meet up and drink a few and compare some watches. I need some advice on some Pam's for sure!
Congrats on the man cave ice box!

Just don't store any corked bottles laying down, COLDI. Unlike wine, that is a no-no for beer. Capped bottles are fine to store laying down.

Home brews are better left up right as well, due to sediment. ;)

Don't like beer too cold. My brother in law immediately says his beer is too hot unkess its been in the freezer for an hour. I like my beer just around room temp. Lagers obviously much cooler but I feel I taste it better warmer.
