Hi Guys,
I picked this up in member sales, I've read the reference guide about it but still I'm not sure if there's a quick set for the date, how the power reserve should function-will it be immediate or build up over time, what the button on the case is for? Really any info would be nice.... The Fiddy was my First Pam so I know absolutely nothing about how these newer ones and how they function..... I added the Kain Heritage Strap as soon as it arrived and I really like the look it gives it.....

I've read the reference guide on the 222 ,but my first PAM was The Fiddy and this watch is nothing like it, so I really appreciate any info you can add....

mitch, is there a button on the side of the watch case at 8 or 10? if so, then i believe this is the quick set button for the date. I have an older 090 with the same setup (21J - functioning PR) if this is the same movement, then you should have this option available.

Yes, great! Now about the power reserve, the guide says the Asian movement power reserve is a working model, so does this build up over time to register how long you have?

Should show how many hours it has left. Think of it as a battery indicator or fuel guage.

Wind it and you should see the needle moving right.

Cool - one problem taken care of. Next on to the power reserve.

You see on the PR subdial the numbers go from 0 to 40 (This is the hours of reserve supposedly available) I cant attest to how accurate it is, but it seems fairly legitimate to me.

When you wear the watch the PR will generally increase slightly or at a minimum it will stay the same. When you wind it, the PR indicator will move towards the 40, once it hovers around 40 you are 'fully wound' or at max PR.

Its auto movement, i do not believe you can over wind it. Unlike your fiddy, you will not feel any resistance when you wind this one - since it automatic.

Keep going, wind it clock wise and you will see it move.

Honestly I think this watch has some problems as the second hand has been randomly stopping and starting again...

Go ahead and wind it, it will not overwind. Automatics have a "clutch slip" (not sure if its the correct term) to prevent overwinding.

I wouldnt be so quick to jump the gun, it seems based on the pic you posted that the watch is 'out of juice' completely unwound. Why dont you go ahead and give it 20-30 full clockwise rotations and tell us what you see (In terms of PR) and what you hear when you put your ear to the watch.

After this you should see the PR has gone up and the seconds move smoothly. I am wearing my 090, i just took it off and gave it 15 rotations - PR went up like 1/8 of the way, maybe a little more.

Tell us what you see and we will walk you through it.

I just wound it many turns and nothing but I've been noticing the second hand stop randomly from the time I first have it a few turns and it started running.... the power reserve hasn't moved at all.... now it's completely stopped... I'm pretty sure there something wonky with this one.....

This is strange. When you wind it (I am assuming your crown is all the way in) what do you hear? do you hear the gears winding?

How many times did you wind it? do not be afraid to over wind.

Is it a Seagull ST25 movement? Should be pretty solid.

I have to ask the same thing as Ruski: are you winding it enough? Please go ahead and give it a good 20 rounds and see if works fine.

Yea, but I'm not sure how there supposed to sound.... when I wind it it stops.... then to get it started again you have to kindly shake it....
