Saw this posted on a whatsapp group. Looks pretty darn good to me out of the box. Would buy a coke version for sure.

That looks like a BP with 3186. I had read this was coming from BP, also a 16570 (Explorer II).

It has all the characteristics of a BP 16710 - chamfers are too wide, CG's angling back over the crown, insert too narrow, bezel teeth not wide enough (too pointy).

These are not dealbreaker flaws, I have several BP 16710s and wear them happily even though I have a gen. This version will be even better since it has a 3186 and the crown should sit higher like the gen. But it appears not much else has changed from the DG/ETA versions. Meaning it likely won't take a gen bezel, insert or crystal.

Take note of how similar the BP 2836 is to the new model, and the specific differences from gen that I mentioned.

It's been around for a few years now. The case is still rather poor for a 16710. It'll work just fine, but it's more like a 16760 "Fat Lady".

Right I remember this now. It also has an SA3186, an inferior movement that folks were replacing with the VR. For some reason I thought maybe Sead's listing came with a VR but likely it's the same old same old.

You're correct, it's a SA3186. I actually purchased a 2836 version and swapped in a VR3186 with better hands. The 2813/2836 case stem height is pretty forgiving, especially with the large rehaut. Regardless of the movement, the crown sits too low on these cases.

Yes indeed, that's one big tell. I don't let it ruin my enjoyment of them though. This hobby is only as fun as you allow it to be.

I wonder if the 3186 version is better in this regard or if BP just did the same as you and fitted the same case with a true clone movement. The insert on Sead's sample looks great if the pic isn't filtered. First time I've seen fuscia on a factory rep insert.

Love this bezel, do you have a source for it?
It's a Vostok, they are Russian origin. They're a perfect fit for the non gen-spec BP bezels. OD is ~ 37.5mm (same as BP, gen is ~ 37.65mm).

They used to be widely available and cheap, around $15. After recent world events you can hardly find them anymore and the last time I saw them they were $35.
