Obligatory photo post for my new and first ever Panerai model.

111H Ordered from Davidsen on Wednesday, delivered on Saturday. WOW. It was shipped from the future.

I'm no PAM expert, in fact, I've never seen one in real life. I can tell you though, this watch has the 'feel' of something nice. It is very heavy and the controls are very smooth. The metal and glass have a great quality look to them. I wore it out all day. I'm used to the size of my gen Rolex Datejust. I was a little nervous about how I'd feel with the much taller and wider PAM. It is super comfortable. I took a few pics of what was included. 2 straps, and an extra set of spring bars. I have another post asking about how to remove a scratch from the case. One of the screw bars was very tough to remove, and the screwdriver head slipped, so I scratched it before I even put it on! I'll get it fixed though.

I setup a lightbox for some quick pictures. The others are taken with a flash in macro mode. I really want an SLR.

I have a Savage strap on the way. I'm sure I'll get a few others after that. I've already seen so many I'd like.

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions and posts after post on what's out there. This is my second rep purchase. I bought a TT Sub Serti from perfectclones a few months ago. It was a great piece, just not what I was looking for, so I sold it here. My Rolex is going to be jealous.

And now, the pics:

Great purchase for your first Pam. Get ready for your bank account to be hurting due to the more pams that will come.

Congratulations on a great watch . . .never thought I'd get a Pam but I'm getting closer and closer to going for it. Actually traveling to Italy this summer, and we are going to be spending some time in Florence. I'm planning to make a trip to the Panerai shop there, and I'm guessing the spectacle of all those Pams in their natural state will either push me over the edge towards owning one or satisfy my curiosity forever. Nice pics, thanks. :D

Nice pics, jhigh.

Too right about Davidsan shipping from the future. :) This last week was a great week for stupendous quick delivery from him. I sported mine all day too. It is a most fantastic piece.

I was thinking about reps and that, as I wa anti-rep/anti-fake just a month or so ago. But as I look at the work these artisans are creating, they would do well making custom branded watches or private line watches. The quality of their work is above reproach. And in that sense I am proud to wear a Davidsan rep.

Congratz my friend and welcome in The Panerai world...I started with the 111h modded. I have 9 PAM's now....wait until you have the first fiddy on your wrist. Watch out that you do not need a seconed job for that watch hobby.

guys is this a new revision from DS? Seems the color is a lot more correct and the numbers look thicker along with the "sandwich" effect being more pronounced here.

DSN rocks........

I got my 111h and fiddy ....in 3 days .....(Thats 3 days ..from HK to the UK !!) Honestly its quicker than posting a letter to myself...

Anyway....my bank account is about to get hit for a strap from Savage.....then when the time comes a full service from Vaccum.....with the dying of the 'Panerai', Marina' and Luminor' just for good measure....

The crown is unacceptable on that watch. Doesn't look any better than a cheap asian version. Far worse than any the other dealers are offering.

That does look like a small crown. I thought he offered his watches with fat ones now.

That looks like DSN's standard crown (which is advertised at 2mm thick) to me.

I agree that the dial cutouts look thicker than expected. Much more like the Pre-A Panerai dials.

Compare the dial and the crown to the pic from DSN's Ultimate 111H ad:

It's still a good looking watch, enjoy it!

Can someone point out the difference a little more clearly in the dial and the crown?

I'm not seeing it. What exactly on the dial are you looking at?

And the crown? When you say bigger, do you mean diameter, or thickness?

The crown is exaclty as thick as a nickel.

Panerai crown is slightly thicker than a Nickel (at least on my gen 118F) but good observation.

Here's an updated pic with a proper strap! From Savage, more pics in the Eyecandy forum.

I've had the 111h for a week, and it's been on every day. My gen Rollie is collecting dust in the watch box.

You hit the jackpot! My first 'pam' had an asian 21j and a crown that could be used to dice sashimi it was that thin  :D

If this is your first review, then you are already a great add to RWI.

Wear your lovely 111H well.
