Hi and thakns for any info,

Firstly must say amazing work and effort by all here. great source of reading and soooo much info on Gen and Rep watches.

My story, I have never had a real watch or a replica watch, side from the crappy $10 casio and a swatch as a kid, but have decided to try a replica first and then move to a real one for my 40th birthday.

After looking at the top brands AP, omega Tag ect....I have decided that I like the Pam style a lot. Been reading and reading and think I want a 40-42 PAM with Chrono. I prefer the thinner style and I like the crown guard. So after looking at the spreadsheet, it seems a Lumior (not 1950). the PAM108 and PAM168 fit the bill but neither seem to come under trusted dealers searches.

There are some out there from general googling but just have not got the grasp of what makes a good rep and which dealer to buy from.

Any suggestions or advise is greatly appreciated and any links to read more Im happy to do more, just feel like I am in need of some direction at this point.

there are other PAMs out there, that meet my wants, not on the sheet but I assume there are no replica's? i.e PAM052 and PAM215 PAM 060

thanks in advance!

The guide is the best place to start. Probably spent a good couple of days reading through it. Welcome by the way.

Hi thenek

Firstly welcome to RWI

There are NO good PAM reps of 40 or 42mm. You should start in 44mm.

There are no THIN chronos. All chronos have more 15mm of thickness.

Maybe the most "discreet" PAM Chronos are PAM 253 and PAM 212 but they have 1950 case.
In Luminor case you have PAM 356 and PAM 326.
PAM 250 - 196 - 224 are nice too but this is another level

But, as above said you should read PAM GUIDE to start your learning about PAM reps and then make some choices and then a decision.

Well, if OP is planning to buy a genuine 40mm after trying a rep first, maybe it's not a major problem if there is not an accurate rep out there... A somehow decent rep might be sufficient and might support his will to buy the real thing ;)

Pam watches are not elegant dress watches. They are on the large size and sit relatively high on the wrist.

For a first rep I would avoid a Chrono.

Pam reps are a good choice as a rep as they have been refined to a point where appearance is very close to the gen.

Suggest you you look at Noob or KW watches only as their quality is the best.

Suggest you you look at the Noob v3 111, 390, 292 or KW 417, 359, 312, 320.

My first or second rep was a PAM 108. It's not accurate but I liked the watch for how it looked and due to the fact that I was worried how a 44mm PAM would look on my very small wrist. However, since my first Rep I've realised that some watches despite the size can still look good on small wrists. If you want a 40mm PAM as already mentioned it won't be accurate as far as I am aware.

Just to give a little more info..... the 108 was a limited edition timepiece (100 made - I think). The most noticeable difference between Rep and Gen IMHO is the bracelet; the GEN is made from polished steel and brushed titanium whereas the Rep bracelets that I have seen are made from only stainless steel. Despite the differences, the watch still looks good and forms a nice part of my little collection.

Hi and welcome. The PAM236K Daylight A7753 by Noob Factory possibly comes closest to what You´re looking for but I would try to avoid a chrono as very first watch because the movement is more complicated. The best would be a handwound 6497 probably.

Maybe just choose a pragmatic approach and check the offerings of 2 TD´s like Intime and Torobravos and just choose one which lookwise and pricewise is fine 4 You. After having the first and touching/ seeing it all reading becomes much more clearer for the following purchase. Have fun.

My two cents, I started out with a gen IWC 3717 but once I bought a PAM 390, I just could not stop.

Not sure as to why you would want a 40-42mm but I have a small wrist at 6" and the 44mm PAMs still manage to look decent on my wrist. I've since also got the PAM088 (which is a beauty) as well as a PAM438 but personally the 390 is still my favorite. I also have a monstrous 45mm Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and have already incurred the wrath of my better half.

I suppose a sale is in order soon. :(

PAM's wearing smaller than other watches. Here is my 111 (44mm) at my wife's 5,9" (15cm) wrist

Next to a 42mm AP.

Both watches are too big for her wrist but the 44mm PAM looks better than a 42mm AP.

He said he likes a crown guard. Forget the 40-42 mate and embrace the 44. If you like chronos, give the Noob 356 a try.

If you like the 052, try a Noob 088. It's practically gen. And if you want a dealer recommendation, I give super mirrors three thumbs up. Sead has always given me better service and better prices than any other dealer I've tried. But to be honest, all the trusted dealers listed on this site are worthy of your business, otherwise they wouldn't be listed as a trusted dealer. In this game patience is a virtue too. Things don't always happen fast.

Thanks for all your advise and suggestions I ended up going for a biting the bullet and getting a 44mm as you all suggested. I purchased the PAM 308. Don't know why but I kept moving back and forward between so many different options and ultimately could not find the exact blend of form and features, but this came close....

This might be the start of a few more specials and it will be good to see how a 44mm fits.

thanks for all advise and hints and tips and suggestions. The QC pics just arrived and waiting for the shipping.
