Hi Fellas,
I need your opinion on a DSN. He made it for me and apologised that he only has this casing available now. The crown is not 100% 50/50 sitting with Cg, only 6/4 position. I really like it but I guess this not the standard case. I’m not sure about the notch around the crown on the case. I don't see it but this is his own case. These are the pictures he sent me

Yes, I know. I've got 4 DSN reps 111H, 112H, 217H and 202A. There are all great out-of-the-box PAMs with the standard cartel cases. I haven't seen hes cases. I'll ask him to send close-up pictures of the case and if there isn't a notch around the crrown on the case I'll get this one. I really want to have Ti Marina Militare with a tobacco brown dial.

The other question is about the hands. Are they supposed to be different colour from the markings and numerals?

Just ask for a picture of the watch straight from the front. That should show any notching in the case if it's there.

Yes, typically the hands of the T dialed PAMs are lighter colored than the dial markers. However, DSN's "tritium" lume is a bit too yellow, IMO. Not horribly wrong, but could be better.

Yes, I asked him and he replied "no more notches on the casing". I think I'll get it. I'm not too concerned about the crown position. I was going to ask him to make 203A or 004 instead, but I don't have Ti rep. The other thing is, where can I get good reviews for 203A or 004?

I'm not sure what you mean by "where can I get good reviews for..."?

This ti case is somewhat similar to the 5218-201/A ss case that DSN offers that has the crown sit way up high on the case...Thus the uneven position of the crown versus the CG...This will be problematic for winding as you will be asserting uneven pressure on the stem...May damage the movement over time....

I would ask for a proper case if I were you...

Yes, I’ve already read about these problems on rwg. Not sure why David can’t make a Ti case from the standard cartel cases he’s got. I really like 036 but left it for another time. He will make pvd 004 for me. Last purchase from DSN was 202A, the case for my 004 will be the same as 202A. It is spectacular. For the first time some of the guys at work asked me about the watch. I love it despite of the small inaccuracies it has, it is a rep after all. David is a great guy his watches are excellent.

I meant reviews of DSN watches, I was looking for pictures and comments: 203A and 004. I’ve got DSN:111H, 112H, 202A and 004 (next week), what else should I buy from DSN?

Why would DSN use his self made 44mm cases when the cartel version looks the same? Is he trying to prevent DSN owners from changing the crown and CG?

There aren't any better Ti CGs out there at the moment (other than "Ruby's" old 036 case that is no longer available) and DSN's Ti crown is pretty great.

I think it has more to do with the fact that most of DSN's dials are a little bigger in diameter than "normal" rep dials. Now, whether the dials forced the different cases or the cases forced the bigger dials is a chicken or the egg kind of question.

so is DSN case, which houses the larger dials, more accurate than the cartel's cases?

thanks

I have a DSN 036 that I bought in early summer. It was my favorite daily wearer for a while until I got my 061. I have 3 brown faced watches and will sell the DSN eventually. :)

The DSN keeps great time winds easily etc. even though it has the offset crown.

My only issue with this watch is that it has DSN's older brown dial. DNS has updated his dial which is a good thing.

I love the watch regardless of the noted case inaccuracies.
