OK.
Just about to write yet another chapter of my little watch adventure.
In the photos you will see two watches: the Breitling is my watch. I have owned it for a few weeks now. It feels nice on the wrist and keeps perfect time.
Now, my first impression when I first saw it was: it is leaning toward SMALL and indeed it did feel a bit small after having worn a full size Seamaster but damn what a nice watch. But even one guy I work with commented that the Colt looks kinda small (38mm).
Then my original personal penchant still haunted me: the moonwatch.
So, this week i have a chance to sell the Colt and with the money get a Speedmaster reduced in very nice condition (see photo).
But even with a Reduced getting me closer to my holy grail (full size auto moonwatch), I am hesitant because of the smallish size of the Reduced, just like the Colt.
So, I ponder: why sell the Colt which is perfectly fine just to get another 38mm watch, no step ahead!?
But after some deeper thinking, dollar for dollar, the Reduced will still be a better keeper or investment with a better resale value than the Colt.
So, what do you guys think? Am I doing the right thing if I sell the Colt and get the Reduced?
The Reduced is so close to the Moonwatch, I could easily keep it as my beloved watch. Despite both these watches 38mm size, it is still bigger than a Datejust and even though not as big as a Superocean or FUll Speedy, 38mm feels OK and comfortable. I think it also looks OK, not too small or feminine...What do you think?
Thanks,
Luke
