need some help with santos

after looking through the catalog and various NWBIG list I've started looking for a Santos that would someday have a real ETA transplanted in and I've found this one but more experience input would be appreciated

is this actually the super rep?

also how different is this KZF version?

That is the Cartier Santos on the Super Rep list .

The KZF watch is an inferior rep why buy it for the sake of $40 ?

You can swap in a genuine ETA 2824 .

Although i would just get the Asian one serviced and buy a replacement strap . As the straps on these are dog shit , and a massive i'm wearing a rep tell .

Finally the smaller watch you link is the 'NEW' Santos which was released last year at Basel World in 2018 . So an updated version of the first watch you link . A slimmer case , new movement , fast release strap and bracelet system ( on gen ). There are long threads about this watch in the Cartier section . A very good rep by all accounts , but the concensus was there are some noticable tells on the watch ( i think from memory font was too thin ??) .I'm not sure i agree with the consensus opinion , seemed to me the microscope gang were out in force again . So the rep of the previous 2656 model ( your 1st link ) is still considered the best version of a Santos .

To be honest not sure if the first watch is still available or if the V6 factory have changed over production full time to the new model ?? An email to a TD will tell you .

i think im set on the smaller 35mm now but still have afew questions

do you think i should wait for a new version of this 35mm with a bracelet or are rep bracelets usually awful?
is it possible to swap out the Miyota for an ETA in the future?
can i just any strap with a springbar?

The XL V6 factory version of this watch has already been released with a bracelet . It has quick release and smartlinks ( you can see a video of it on PT ) which looks good . I'm not sure if there are plans to make a bracelet version of the 35mm.

Rep bracelets depend on the rep , some are excellent . You usually get what you pay for as in all things .

No you can't use an ordinary strap with ordinary spring bars . Although i think ZicZac has started or plans to start to make quick release straps to fit the watch . You also could buy a genuine i think i have heard that these fit . HOWEVER i think the straps on the new KOR and V6f are far better than previous versions . much more gen like . They certainly look good in the videos.

You can't change the Miyota 9015 for an ETA different stem length , hand height etc ( people will tell you that you can buy adjusters etc ) . WHY would you want to ? The Miyota will be a genuine Miyota made by Citizen and not a clone . It is a great work horse movement , i have one in a Cartier Tank Solo XL and it is accurate as fuck . The only problem they have a light one way rotor which can sometimes be a little noisy .

Oh yikes the strap using unique to the santos is new to me
quite a big issue if Its so hard to.source a useable band

Well the NEW Santos is , because it has the new fast release strap system . If you go for your original choice that uses an ordinary strap with screw in spring bars . However even then you can't buy a replacement strap for that watch off the shelf . You have to go gen or have one custom made . Getting one made is easy there are strap vendors on this site .
