Need some help/advice with a 187 project idea

A certain jerk friend of mine (screw you chinkiechunkie) and I were hanging out on the front stoop of his place and I told him my idea of swapping out the 7753 movement in my 188 into some other PAM... he suggested a 187 as he knows I love this piece but am turned off by the recessed date...

So... is this possible with the current 187's out there? Does the quick-set date actuator at 10 work on this a7750 models, or is it just for show? How is the quick-set actuator on these as it looks like it doesn't mimic the gen well in some pics and in others it looks fairly similar...

Give me some advice!

The movement will swap with no problem.... and to the best of my knowledge, taka doesn't own a 187.... so, i need someone with one to tell me if the quick-set date actuator is functional or just for show...

i can just tell you that taka is a master in swapping chrono mvmnts in IWC....cant hurt to ask him.

For all 7750 the botton at 10 is non-functioning.

Cant think of anyone better.

He spent more time on this piece than some knowing the existence of this honpo187.

And i love my honpo187 too!! LOL!!

Ditto to what pamfried said. Kruzer tried to put a 7753 in his Honpo but the case was not the right fit, and the 187 he had his 7753 in was
not as accurate as the honpo, but the bottom line it seems is that you can put a 7753 into most 187 rep cases. Good thing to do, it is
an excellent movment. Good luck with it.
