I bought a member watch recently
A little pissed because it was a radiomir sold with multiple straps but was not disclosed to me loctite was used to secure the backside screws until post payment when the watch was being shipped as an FYI
My issue is I have the proper size screwdriver but can not remove the lug
I don't care for the rep strap so this is an issue obviously
not sure what loctite type he used, I assume the removable type
Any tricks on removing a screw that has been loctited
Water any other solvent help release the bond?

Use nail polish remover it works great, let it kind of soak the area and it should loosen up.

Place a hot soldering iron on the area you wish to release.

Thank you for the advise
I don't have a soldering iron but I do think applying heat to the screw heads would fix the problem

It is blue loctite at least so am hopeful a little hammer to the driver may break the seal or a little bit of nail polish remover
Don't want anything seeping into the case/movement obviously

If not will have to try and borrow a soldering iron or try other heat source

I guess what bugs me is I see advise all of the time on the forums to loctite your screws because reps screws don't hold like gens

For links in bracelets I totally agree or even side bezel screws that will likely never be removed but find it really stupid for lug screws which you expect to change somewhat frequently

I suspect I will get the lugs out but not without raping the screw heads which will make the back of my otherwise brand new watch look like crap
The rep screw heads are just too fragile especially the radiomir ones

I have never used the heat system. But it seems an interesting idea, a little dangerous IMO, mainly with ceramic cases.
But the nail-polish remover or better pure acetone will be useful
The Loctite thread-locker medium resistence should be removed with manual tools without problems. But perhaps there is some instant cyanoacrylate Loctite in your watch.
Just put one corner of your watch under acetone and wait for solving the Loctite. Then make the same with the other three corners.

Good luck

You might think loctite is a dumb idea on the Radiomir's but trust me on this, you will lose your watch without it. ;) Also, the holes in the case are close ended so don't worry about seeping, you're good to go.
