HI guys,

The cg just fell off today and I have lost one screw. Couldn't find it anywhere.

Can anyone help? It's the other screw which is visible. Not the one hiding under the clasp.

I am located in Perth, Australia.

Very sad.

OK THAT'S LOST NOT LOUSY! LOST

It also happened to me on a 312 (a long time ago!)
I couldn't find or source any more screws so (I think) I just sold the watch as-is, but I don't recall exactly!
I remember it was fricking frustrating as hell. I checked with TDs and JacksonTSE, etc for a SINGLE STUPID screw and nobody could get them at the time.
I was mad as hell... just wanted the watch gone... LOL ;)
Good luck OP

How expensive could it be to just include a few extra screws with the watch? They do that with other things.

I'm talking about the factories. Whenever I've bought furniture or rc cars, they've included extra replacement screws or parts that commonly break or come loose.

I don't see why you would compare factories of gen furniture or toys with replica watch factories. Let's make this comparison realistic. Does Panerai furnish spare screws with its 5000 and upward watches?

Point well-taken Mysterio. I just feel bad for members that lose or break a part that's hard to replace. Even if the watch is still.useable and no one else notices, it's still in the back of their minds.I know these reps are a fraction of the price of gens. However, for some members spending $300-$400 is their "gen" for now.

Yes. I agree for some people is really hard to get an useless watch of 300-400$
But mysterio is right, those are the game rules when we are dealing with reps. We have to assume sometimes (or never) we will not get parts.
You are not obligated to buy a rep. You are getting them voluntarily and without real guarantee or real after-sales service
If you get a good relationship with your dealer, after a lot of purchases, you could be able to get some parts for your watches and always if the maker wants to supply them.
If you are looking for another thing, just buy a gen.

I agree with your points as well Ale. The TDs really have no moral obligation, other than providing us with the watch advertised. However, it might be a little discouraging for newbs trying to get into this hobby.

I know how it feels to have a completely usable watch and yet not use it because of a missing part. I have a friend who has a V4 PAM359 (before the P9000 decorated movement) who lost the whole crown guard in a party. I sourced another crown guard from a TD but unfortunately only CG from the current crop of reps were available and it appears the crown on the V4 is exactly the width of the cutout on the new CG. So now the PAM sits in his watchbox, waiting for a suitable part to come up.

GULP!!! Horror stories..I better source that screw soon! I dont want my watch to be a showpiece !!

I think a good idea would be to; at the time of purchase ask the dealer to throw in a couple of screws and you pay for it ($10-15) that way you dont have to pay for the shipping of the screws separately and we wont ripp of the dealers of frebies.

A good idea is assure you don't lose the only screw you have

Use this screw to strongly fix the CG in the external part (visible part). Use a bit of Loctite 222 or 243 to assure this screw. Leave free of screw the hole under the lever. Nobody will be able to realize the missing screw under the lever
Try to get in its place the CG with only this screw, that will be enough
If you want to assure a bit more the fixation, put a bit of the same Loctite in the base of the CG before the assembling
That will work
