Sold a 212 to a guy who apparently scrambled the hairspring while trying to adjust it... Gave him his $$'s back, and am holding a busted 212...I'm not sure whether it would be easier to sort out the spring, or just replace the whole movement...Anybody know who sells these and what they're worth??...My big problem is that I don't have access to a reasonable watchmaker, but I can change out a movement....but I don't mess with hairsprings or balance assemblies....Any suggestions??

is that the 7750 clone ? or the Venus manual wind version I don't remember from your post..

in either case if the hairspring is actually goobered you need some SERIOUS WIS skills to fix that yourself!
If you have the WIS skills to fix that yourself then a suitably sized swiss hairspring should work.

If you have it fixed by maybe Joe or Ziggy they can get a hairspring and fit it and re regulate the watch properly.

Wait - he opened the back and screwed the watch up and you gave the money back?? That's like selling a car and the guy forgets to put oil in it and wants their money back... lol

Well....I didn't find out till after I refunded him what he did!!....It was simply an issue of "the watch doesn't work"....OK no problem...send it back!!...I try to be straight in my dealings....Sometimes you get screwed...Oh well....He won't get me again!!

Thats something that should may be given address with more specifics in the Trade review section, for the good of the community.
