Guys,
I looked through your part of the forum and did not find an answer to a noob question - what would be the perfect first purchase from Panerai. I came from AP thread and the answer there would be AP Diver V7 as the most accurate piece. Is there such a simple answer in Pam?
Many thanks for your advices!

Make a list of your favorite models, the check them in ALE's guide till you come across a well repped model

Check Ale's guide and take a look at 111, 005 and 390 (Luminor case) or 312 and 243 (1950 case). All these are a good start in Panerai world.

There is no ONLY ONE Pam to be recommended
You should decide the TYPE you like:
-LUMINOR-RADIOMIR-LUMINOR 1950...
-SIMPLE-COMPLEX dial
-BASIC-GMT-CHRONO....
-MATERIAL: SS polished, brushed, Titanium, BlackDLC, Ceramic...
-Automatic- Manual...

With above questions go to PAM GUIDE to get more info
If you have some doubts, ask again here BUT WITH CONCRETE MODELS AND VERSIONS to be chosen

Thank you guys for your help. Looked through the GUIDE (which is really great) and came to conclusion that the most desired model should have second hand, date and ideally it should have automatic movement. I would prefer it to be lighter (i.e. titanium).
May be I was not attentive enough but the model with such "perfect (for me) set of complications" was not released as "super” rep. What do you think?

Pam 312 is a good option for me but it is not the best quality among pams...

Thanks again!

The 312 is a wonderfull and well made rep. Not a super rep, because rep movement design is not in correct alignment. But in real life, only a Pam expert would see this. The most watch and gen-Pam lovers cant recognize the differences.

312 in titan case is 351.

As above commented PAM 312 KW is one of the best reps ever made
It is not Super rep due to display caseback with visible rep movement
But the construction and gen-like appearance is better than on many Super reps

PAM 359, PAM 351 are also good options

For a first rep Titanium could be a bit prone to scratches

Another good solution could be a GMT like PAM 088

So, a week of studying the Ale's guide and I'm leaning towards Pam312 (o-series, V6F). Puretime offers two movement - Asian 23J and Asian 7750. Although 23J is cheaper it is more preferable according to Ale - is it correct (also in Ale's guides it is stated as 25J or it is another movement?)? The thickness is also different 23J is thinner - true?

At the end - just one doubt: I also looked at the version of this watch in titanium... Does anyone know the difference in weight, ideally how much each watch weighs in grams (I have AP Diver, 175 grams, which is quite heavy).

Thanks!
