Hey guys, I've removed and swapped bezel inserts on my gen 16710 GMT Master and I am familiar with the newer bezel components on the later model gen GMT's and Sub's. My question is how are the reps configured? I recently got a new BP Hulk with a ceramic bezel insert and I want to swap out the green ceramic for something different. I may go with black ceramic, or green or black aluminum. Just looking for some guidance on what I'm going to find under the 116610LV bezel ring.

If you are wondering why I am doing this, it so happens that emerald green is my favorite color (who doesn't love the green sunburst dial?) and sadly my least favorite color is olive drab. So you can see I'm pretty conflicted here. LOL

I have a post here with some pics if you want to take a look:

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info,
KJ

5 digit subs and GMTs had alu inserts, 6 digit subs and GMTs have ceramic inserts. he inserts have different dimensions and are not interchangeable - you can't put a ceramic insert on a 5 digit sub, alu won't fit on a 6 digit sub etc.

Tripdog I did not know the dimensions were different. I'm wondering if the same is true for reps? I haven't put two loose inserts back to back but laying an aluminun one on top of a ceramic one they cant be off by much. I also have a spare alum. bezel. Wonder if it would fit over the crystal? Just trying to figure a way around the fugly green rep ceramic. If you have any suggestions, I'd sure apreciate it.

^^ I can see that there is a slight gap around he outside of the insert - if it doesn't bother you then that's fine.

The difference in size between the 2 is pretty small - a few tenths of a millimetre.

Ceramic insert dimensions:

Outside Diameter 38mm / Inside Diameter 30.8mm

Metal insert:

Outside Diameter: 37.65mm /Inside Diameter: 30.7mm

Whilst you can remove a small amount from the outer/inner edge of a metal insert to get it to fit, you can't alter the size of a ceramic insert.

With he above dimensions you may be able to find a green ceramic insert that fits - try eBay - inserts for Vostok , Seiko etc may fit.

Excellent! I may try to fit a 5-digit alum. insert bezel to the 6-digit rep crystal as well. Thanks for the precise measurements. I have seen some nice looking possible replacements.

Guess I know what I'll be doing today, lol.

Thanks for the assist, KJ
