Navtimer Question

So I posted this in the replica discussion and recieved a few responses. Then I talked to Andrew and recieved a diferent response. So I am really hoping someone here can help me.

I have a Navtimer with the Asian 7750 movement which I just got today.

Here is my question:

Should the crown push in and out, and be wound clockwise to actually lock (Like on my submariner)

OR

Should the crown simply push in and out, for setting the time, and then still turn while engaged?

I would really appreciate it if someone with a Navtimer could confim this for me so I know if I need to send the watch back or not.

The reason I ask, is because the crown on my watch will push in and out, but it doesnt actually tighten to a stop by turning clockwise. Once engaged it will still turn, but the watch keeps time. I know it seems like a noob question, but the watch is much different than anything else I have to compare it to.

Thanks for the help.

Navitimer doesn't have a screw down crown. When the crown is in the default position (pushed in) you can wind the watch manually by hand. So there's nothing wrong with your watch.

Alright, similar question, I'd appreciate some advice! Just got the same watch, (Navitimer, Asian 7750), and it arrived stopped...trying to wind with crown pushed in all the way, it only winds counter-clockwise, will not rotate clockwise. Is this normal?

Also, Chrono functions are not zeroed, and will not reset with a push of 4-o-clock pusher...will it only reset when the watch is running? Thanks a bunch!!

Your watch sounds broken.

It's not a good idea to reset your chrono while it's running. Watches wind clockwise, not counter-clockwise.

Yeah, that's what I fear. The chrono isn't running, btw, watch is totally stopped.

So there was resistance winding clockwise, and after applying a little more force than I would have liked to, it got past this resistance and will now wind clockwise. Watch is still not running, however. I'm fearing the worst here. Any other ideas??

Have you tried shaking the watch, to see if it winds automatically?

One of the chrono reset levers/springs may have jumped out of place, hence the lack
of response from pushing the button.

You should send the watch back.
Q: Is it a new model Navitimer, with 28800 bph movement?

Yeah, it's a 28.8k Asian, and I have tried shaking the watch. It does not sound like any of my other automatics where you can hear the rotor winding, it sounds pretty brutal, like parts of the movement have come loose in the case.

I am sending the watch back. I guess I have to act like an adult and be patient now... which I'm finding difficult. Ruby's customer service is outstanding, however. Best of a bad situation, for sure. I'll be buying from her again in the future.
