Trying to make a decision on my next purchase...Navitimer. After reading, researching, etc. all the great reviews and posts I am still torn between the Serie Speciale model or the new 6-9-12 dial layout. I like both layouts but it's obvious the 3-6-9 model has a better date font and depth...

Below is a picture of Andrew's SS model from his website which I am considering...to me the date font looks closer to the gen than any other i have seen...has anyone out there recently bought this model, have a picture in double digits for the date, or just want to comment?

Opinions and advice welcomed and appreciated...

Thanks,

Both Navis are great watches as long as they have the new 7750 (28,200bph). I one a second generation 3-6-9 model that I purchased from Andrew and am very happy with it.

Why does everyone rave on about the "new" 28,200bph movements? Pugwash ordered one and was DOA. I have the older version which has been serviced and runs superbly. Chronos works everytime and resets PERFECTLY. Also the slide rule numbers do not line up on the new Navitimers so you can't use it. Bit like having no second hand on your watch.

Died in the first week, but point taken. :D

The new 28k movement is simply a better movement. With servicing, it approaches the ETA version, according to Ziggy. Oh, and it beats right for the chrono at 4x2 clicks. There's nothing worse than having a quarter-second track and having the hand not line up.

I find the Slide Rule is close enough, but I would love a more accurate one. I felt that the adverts for this watch with the Slide Rule off-axis to hide the inaccuracy were out of order, but I bought mine knowing the problem.

If a 28k version comes out with an accurate slide rule, I'll upgrade.

the alternative is to switch the parts from a 21k over to a 28k. Handy if you happen to have both
