Navitimer Serie Speciale (Fighters Edition) still available through Michelle

This is the second time now that Michele at Silix was able to get a watch that EVERY SINGLE OTHER TD said was sold out. She did this for me last year with the older style Breitling Montbrillant Datora. Every other TD said the watch had been sold out for years, but Michelle got it no problem.

She just sent me QCs for the Serie Speciale. I've tried a few Navitimers before, but I also got rid of them because they just felt a little too shiny and gaudy for me; the bling factor was too much. This Navitimer with the 7750 in a 6/9/12 configuration was the only Navitimer released with a brushed casing. The rep comes from the factories with a polished case, but I'm getting it bead blasted. The end product will definitely look more tool-ish than brushed, and I think I'll like it on the bead blasted bracelet or a bead blasted deployant with a vintage custom canvas strap.

I've also thought about potentially using the case to mod a vintage Navitimer build with a slightly aged dial. Based on the gens, the 6/9/12 configuration would be old enough for this. All of the 3/6/9 configs are too new to actually fade and age in the wild.

In case anyone was still searching for the Serie Speciale, it is still available through one TD.

My TD has sourced one for me. Now I wait. My TD has a reputation with this Factory as being too picky. This purchase will be interesting.

Looking forward to it, bead blasting is done, subdial hands will be colored black next to match gen, and the watch will be "beat up" a bit to give it a worn in look. I should have it middle of next week. Looks quite toolish and badass to me.

Research buddy. It's just a different layout mostly, and the case is brushed on the gen version. There are no GMT Navitimers.

Yup, here we go. The 40 post know-it-all links to TrustyTime yet doesn't have 5 minutes to research shit; you sure made yourself look like a tool. You'll do great around here. What you linked to is a completely different watch in a completely different case size. You've shown your true colors, so I'll just agree with you for fun and say...yup you're totally right! 46mm case but I guess the factory just decided to leave out the GMT hand on my watch for fun! Oopsies! So sorry you don't understand the differences!

Case is done and the subdial hands were painted black to match gen. A black sharpie was used to somewhat match, but it turned out pretty good; one would need a loupe to tell there's a difference. Last step will be ageing the case to give it a worn-in and loved look, then it'll be good to go.

Hmmm this actually looks really nice. I love the big Navitimers but when new they are blinding shiny. I don’t know if it’s the lighting but in post 8 above where the white in the dial looks a little aged, love it.

White Navitimers are pretty sharp as well.
