Navitimer – Will a gen dial fit?

I’m a total Breitling noob, but my dad wants a Navitimer for his birthday (the current version with subdials at 9-6-3). Just curious - will a gen dial fit on this model? Has anyone done it successfully?

Also, I noticed that on the rep, the markings on the bezel don’t quite match up with those on the dial. If I install a gen dial, will that make this better or worse?

TIA

You will need to shave about 1mm off the outside of the dial as the diameter is too large. Then, it will drop right in, but the date window is in a slightly different location, so you will see the edge of the datewheel.

Damn. So it's probably not advisable to do this mod?

What about lining up the markings on the outer ring? Will they line up better with the gen dial?

I would recommend the 6-9-12 version if you want to do a dial swap. No muss, no fuss!
