Hi Folks,

Nautilus, especially 5711 and 5712 have become one of my grail watch models over the last two years. I thought it might be useful to open a thread for comparison pictures taken of Nautilus gens and/or reps. I'd be most grateful if other forum members could also post their own photos taken of at least two Nautilus watches. Here they are mine (shot in a cloudy day, without any significant photo editing):

From left to right: stock 3KFv2 5711 - PF base / PPFv4 dial hybrid - PPF 5712 (recessed crown)

I know it has its own thread, but how do you personally feel about the PPF v4 white dial vs 3KF V2 green dial in terms of which one is more gen like?

I’m leaning toward the 3KF V2 green dial as my first rep. I wish they would release a V3 with the proper DW and first link to get closer to superrep status.

I have two big issues with the white PPFv4 5711: the protruding crown and the fat bezel. The former is cureable by modding, the latter is hardly. In addition, to my eyes the fat bezel is more pronounced in case of white dial than with other dials. 3KF fixed the fat first link issue in their v2 and its bezel, crown and CG are acceptable for me. Moreover, the 3KF's clone movement is full of joy provided it's properly working ofc. Nevertheless, the white PPF dial is marvelous imho, so if you miss a white dial watch in Nautilus stye from your collection then the white PPF dial may also be considered (eg in a modded PF case with the 3KF clone movement).

Ah lovely. Thank you so much for the response. Going to lead to my first rep purchase. I really like the 40th anniversary blue dial as well, it has a less muted blue tone. Though I’m not sure how close it is to gen.

hopefully more people post some comparison pictures. Thanks again.

Each to their own, ofc. If I had to keep only one watch from my Nautilus reps then I'd keep the PPF 5712. Atm this watch is in the top 5 list of my 50+ watch collection containing gen and rep timepieces valued between USD 100-4,000. I'm blown away by the 5712 dial which is the most dynamic one among my Nautilus reps from greenish teal through dark grey and turquoise to bluish teal color in different lighting conditions and angles. No pics can reproduce its real life dial color. Ofc, if you miss a watch with a dominant blue dial color from your collection then the 40th anniversary could be your choice.

Lovely pictures. That 5712 rep is just a game changer. It could easily be a gen outside the forum.

What are your thoughts on the green one? The colour didn’t feel right for a Patek but maybe I needed to give it more time

The 3KF 5711 green dial color is nice on its own. It does have some metallic shine and sunburst. So if you need a green watch in Nautilus style then go for this rep. However, if you've seen pics or videos about the gen then you'll realize that the rep dial misses that darker metallic olive green tone which the gen has. I've ordered a Buff green dial so hopefully I'll see if it's better.

5712 is growing on me but the price of the gen is so high that I don't see it fit on my wrist. It looks pretty good and if 3K can produce some 240 super clone movement I am definitely in. The finish of the movement currently used in rep 5712 is not satisfactory. I can accept that the construction of movement is different, but its appearance should be close. PPF/ZF should try harder.

Two things annoy me in the 5712 rep movement. The glued deco plates and the ruby colored fake jewels. On the other hand, the movement of my watch keeps very good time (+1-2 s/day) without service.

I am really torn between a 5726 and a 5712. Each have their long list of pros and cons, but I can't help but notice the insane amount of lume glow/color that appears even in bright daylight on all of these blue dial 5726s! As you said in an earlier post and with these photos, it's really a huge difference between white dial 5726 and blue. 5712 blue dial seems to avoid these issues and has white markers/hands, at least in pictures I have seen here.
I think I would get too irritated by seeing the constant greenish lume color in the 5726, hoping that the alleged bracelet quality in the 5712 isn't enough to make me regret my decision!

5726 is nice in theory but the sunken DW and the day/month font - have fake watch vibe
