The good:
- It's cheap!
- It will tell the time and -- according to my father -- did a reasonably good job of it.
- It comes with a box and accessories... even a polishing cloth with a little Rolex crown on it!
- It looks the part from a reasonable distance.
- Crown screws down easily, not cross-threaded.
- The chrono pushers unscrew and screw down as they're supposed to.
- None of the gold plating has worn off anywhere, just light surface scratches associated with occasional use (can be seen in the photos).
- It's nice and light, easy to wear!
The ... less good:
- It is really light. 131 grams to be exact.
- Endlink fitment is not terribly precise.
- The bracelet could use a bit of bike chain lube to quiet it down and smooth it out.
- The lume on the hands charges up and works, but lasts only a short while.
- The lume on the indices is considerably weaker than the lume on the hands.
- Movement is low-beat at 21,600 bph.
- It looks like a chronograph!... but it's not a chronograph:
* Sweep seconds is at center.
* Top pusher moves the subdial at 9. Subdial moves ahead by one at midnight.
* Bottom pusher moves the subdial at 3. Subdial moves ahead by one at midnight.
* The subdial at 6 is a 24-hour indicator.
Also includes a rep Rolex box (inner and outer), rep booklet, and rep warranty card (Submariner model number, serial does not match rehaut).
I hope I've done a good job explaining what this is and is not, and just so there are no surprises here: this is not a super rep. My dad paid $250 USD for it, I think $130 USD should get it done.
Onto the photos!
