want to get my first pam and since many of our dealers are on vacation or out of stock, I checked out ioffer and saw this. A plus is that the cannon pin has been modded already. How does the rest of the watch look? Looks good to my n00b eye but what the hell do I know? Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, that watch looks pretty solid. It seems to have all the major discrepencies looked after. What is the price on it?

I have no idea who these people are. I would wait and stay within the forum. It is entirely possible that if you order this watch from these guys you will receive exactly what they show. If you have a problem with it, however, what recourse will you have.

the asking price is 249. The seller has very good feedback but there are always risks. Even with our dealers people receive defective watches or something other than advertised and there are always costs involved in getting it right... be it time or money or both.

I don't know what you are looking at, but this watch does not have a corrected cannon pin. You can clearly see it in several of the photos you posted that it is still recessed.

You can get the same watch from some of our US Dealers for the same money with a fixed canon pin. Try TWP(the watch prince) he can help you out, I am sure.

Stay with the dealers on these forums. They are chosen for a reason.

no sapphire crystal, no superlume, 100% asian movement with glued on letters ( Officine Panerai ) which will fly around in the movement soon.
who knows what you get....not the watch in the picture.

be safe out there....dont get burned, i did.

Hi Chaps

For what its worth, I bought a 117 from ioffer before I bought my 117H from Davidsen and it was good. It was a swiss rather than an asian movement BUT the cannon pin was not modded like on your example. I bought through a guy called TOS in Thailand and his correspondance and shipping were first rate. :D

I have purchased 2 watches from IOffer dealers before I discovered RWI and they were good deals and I didn't get burned. About half of the watches purchased since needed to be returned because I didn't get what I ordered or the damn things didn't work or were seriously flawed and it took about 2 months before I had a wearable watch back in my hands. I have just purchased 2 watches from various dealers on these forums and one was shipped to me in an unusable condition and of course will cost me a lot more then the beginning delivered price not to mention another 6 weeks to get it resolved. The other watch I just received while advertised as being lumed with real C! has the worst lume of any rep watch I have ever purchased, while everything else about the watch is great. So from my point of view you are only better off here for reason of recourse (if your new watch has problems) and certainly not quality. And even with recourse you can still get the run-around. If that IOffer vendor offers PayPal or credit card for payment then dive in because you then have recourse. Basically you start off with every Rep transaction, by taking the seller at face value until proven otherwise. On the other hand the best watches I have purchased while being on RWI are from other forum members. These watches have been vetted and some modded and taken good care of, so from that point of view why don't you relax and wait for a nice 111 E or H to come up for sale and get a real keeper. Between RWI, RWG, RWC and Repgeek at least 2 111s come up for sale almost every week. By the way The Watch Prince or TWP has just advertised a beautiful 111 for $350.00 with everything done to it and he is in the U.S.

rogerwine: you bring up some good points. I've purchased several watches new from various dealers on rwi and rwg.cc and haven't had a problem yet, and my head tells me to just wait out the chinese new year and stick with what has worked thus far. I have been keeping an eye out for a nice used pam but the good ones get snatched up very quickly. I guess I'll just try to be patient, but we all know how it is when you get the itch to get a new watch. Hard to fend off the impulse demons.

Well, until ANY of the rep makers fix that terrible 2 on the dial, I would not bother getting a fancy 111 rep. Just buy the $100 one that Trevor sells. If they know about the cannon pinion, they know about the 2.

Do you think they will display their "average" looking model for sale or their very best... which do you expect to receive.

That watch is around $160 to $180 from most of our dealers... you'd be crazy to pay that price and pay it to someone you dont even know.

I agree with the others here, stay safe and go with the trusted dealers like Josh, Andrew and Angus. Why take a risk just to save a few days. They'll be all back soon, and some are responding to emails already. Good luck with your purchase.
