my wifes new rolex platinum yacht master

after buying my new gmt2c i told my wife to pick out a rolex for herself and i put the money together and buy it for her. she went back and forth between this and a tt dj with a fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet and a black diamond dial. finally she decided on this because she said she could wear it for all occasions, the dj would be more formal so she wants it for her next rollie. as most of you already know the ladies plat ym is 29mm, is made from 904 ss with a solid platinum time laps bezel and dial with a 31 jewel movement. the new 2008 rolex price has put this watch at 7,450.00 and with tax puts it at 8,195.00. it is absolutely a stunning time piece and she is very happy with it. she came out a little ahead of me on this deal since my gmt2c was 6,545.00 with tax so i am waiting on the show at basel next month to figure out what my next watch is. i am already starting to save up for that, i am keeping my fingers crossed for the gmt2c pepsi but know one knows if it will be realest anytime soon so we will see next month.

well, when they started marketing so-called super reps with the same quality issues we have always had and astronomical prices i had enough. i am not saying i won't buy another rep but they are going to have to get their act together first. i'll bet a hundred dollars the hands and the bezel inserts won't fall off of these. lol :lol:

yes taka, of course you are correct but when the cartel jacked the prices and made it stick by freezing out cheaper dealers the prices went out of control and the quality hasn't improved, maybe the accuracy has but not the quality so i got to the point i didn't feel like i was getting what i was paying for. :?

Nice one, HK! That's a beauty. My wife likes the Yachty, too, but prefers the mid-size. Although, she's been eyeing the PAM051 that's in the case of our local AD. I've gotten her hooked on big watches. :twisted:

I'm going to finish up a couple of project watches that I have and then I'm with you, gens only unless something REALLY special comes along. I'm toying with seeing if I can source a gen PAM000 before the impending price hike. :?:
