WOW this watch is sweet!!

Serial # dates it to 1969
original 1570 movement is very clean and no water damage
Its going in for full service even though it keeps perfect time
Came with original green inner box but no papers
Watch has a bit of wear but not bad for gold watch of this age.
Check out how perfect the crown guards are!!! haha Rolex sure makes them nice!
The only thing i dont like is that there are pins in these old bracelets and not screws. Ive already lost a pin this afternoon and the watch fell off my wrist onto my livingroom floor

Im gunna get my watchsmith to install all new pins and glue them in. Now that i look at it, all the pins are very loose. Good thing i didnt lose it! yikes!

Re: My solid 18k Rolex 1680 - got it yesterday!!

Holy shit! That's not any ordinary 1680. That's a Submariner Model 1680 - 8 with the Gold Nipple dial! Very rare.

(Disclaimer: Fakey is not joking in this post. That is actually the nickname for this dial.)

The dial looks better in person. Where are those pics. I'm expecting to see a 1575 in there,

Re: My VINTAGE solid 18k Rolex 1680 - got it yesterday!!

man, that is really nice! from the look of it, if it is keeping good time and you can fix the bracelet i would wait to have it serviced. you might contact the rsc and check parts availability. if they are starting to get scarce i would send it now before you become one of the people that get turned down for lack of parts.

on second thought just send it to me and i will live with that problem!!!! lmao
