Highly recommended if you dont mind a little bit of finishing work on some sharp edges.
Drive de Cartier? makes me think it is a car LOL.. DRIVE IT, BITCH!
Stainless steel with black leather, sapphire crystal.
39mm wide by 8.2mm thick. 19.9mm lug width, 17.9mm at the buckle.
I love the not-round shape of the case and bezel. I love how this is a quartz and I wont need to spend any money on service.
The sharp edges that needs attending to includes where the bucket meets your wrist skin, the lug points that meets your skin, and the case back screw hole.. those needs to be beveled a bit, which is easy to do with piece of 1000 grit.
The dial printing is magnificent, the dial finish is beautiful when the sunlight hits it, Polished top and brushed sides - very classy.
To ME, this is NWBIG, because the gen is $5850 and is hand wound only, so it is just gonna piss me off having to set the time on it all the time and go winding and winding... This quartz rep looks amazing and never needs winding. It got some obvious tells, but only if you know them, and being how cartier is mostly a woman's thing, I dont think anyone would really know nor care that the crown size is off and its not as flat as it should be and etc.. Cartier is not very well known for mens watches (at least in my circles... Its all Rolex, IWC, Omega, JLC..) I only know of one person who wears a cartier watch, and SHE wears that with tiffany brand jewelry. and SHE looks fantastic wearing it too.. ( I wonder if hers is a rep???)
down side to this watch is that it is TIME only, with NO SECONDS HAND. which to me, means that if the battery dies I would not know right away. This may lead to issues on the day that the battery dies, but if I change the battery on it every year then I am safe. Batteries are dirt cheap on ebay when you buy like 12 of them at once.
SO to finalize, this watch is amazing, I didnt order this one for a while because of the low price, and I thought it wouldnt be as nice. but oo boy, glad I did, because it really is that nice. I will certainly add a deployant buckle to this sometime in the near future.
Enjoy some iphone pics!
