Some of you may recall this thread-

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/so-have-here-100603?t=100603

I finally had a little bit of downtime today, so I got to work on reviving it.

I started with the watch above, one of these from Alpha-

When I decided that I didn't want to gut my original donor watch (I like it too much to tear it apart)-

Along with gen plexi from flea bay that I bought 10 month ago.

During all of this the chrono second hand went MIA, so I decided to use the one from the Alpha that gave this piece a more distinct look. Along with this I swapped over the decorated part of the movement to keep things pretty.

I also bagged the bracelet in favor of a leather strap. This was done mainly because I noticed that all but one of my watches had SS bracelets and I was wanting to have another strap in the collection. The last change that I made was that I used the solid caseback from my PA quartz to complete the project.

Pics of what I ended up with when I wrapped it up today-

Now for the wild part of this little bit of fun.....

Once I had the old movement out I decided to do some online research about ST19's and the issue I had. I discovered that the "click" was not ratcheting like it was supposed to while winding. I lifted the chrono start/stop lever and discovered that the screw that holds the click in place had loosened and the click and spring had moved/shifted enough to prevent the winding mech from working properly.

Now I have a spare (serviced) ST19 that is put away until I decide what kind of project I may want to start on next.

I want a Moonie, soon. But, I think this is one I am going to save up for a gen, unless a cracking rep surfaces.

Looks great though.

Thanks everyone!

It almost broke my heart when it died on me a short time after coming back from "repair". I just let it sit in a box with a couple of my other project/waiting repair pieces. I may switch back to the correct second hand if I can find another one, but I am still undecided.

I put the gen, $130k, version of that watch on my wrist at the omega boutique near me yesterday. Made of platinum, it weighs a ton!
