At the beginning of March I ordered Steve a 116610 LN (I state that for working reasons I needed the reference quite quickly and therefore I wanted to rely on his speed in sending me the reference in question).
Initially I had chosen the HULK but after meditating better, I decided for the Submariner as the black reference with the passage of time would not have "bored" me more than that. If I have to be fussy I have to say that Steve at the beginning had assured me that the HULK reference was in stock and that in 10 days I would get everything. After a few days of getting impatient; I had heard from him asking for information about the watch and he told me that it was not in stock and that therefore it needed more' than 20 days of time and therefore longer times for the QC, then I asked him at this point what he really had available ready for delivery.
Steve proposed to me the 116610 LN promising me that within 2, maximum 3 days he would send me the link that led to the QC, and so it actually was.
About 3 days later the payment via CC (without any kind of problem from my actual Bank) I received the link of the QC with its order number and link for tracking the package that I checked about 2 times a day to check for updates.
Being a novice of the thing I often wrote to Steve asking for information on the order and I always received a friendly and careful answer : As soon as the package is delivered to the courier who will take care of the split you will see the update.
That said! Indeed it was so!
1st March: Payment
3rd March: Payment received
4th march : Received by email, tracking nr. and QC
15th March: VSF received at home via DHL
Technically speaking the watch arrived without box, but with the green card of the crowned brand. After having peeled it all I devoted myself to a careful analysis of every single detail and I must note that the quality is definitely good, not high, nor excellent, we can estimate with a sufficient.
(We’re always talking about spending about 500 $)
The weight is acceptable, the weight of the mesh is almost in accordance with the GEN, but let’s see now a small analysis of the details.
The indexes are ok, well detailed and well defined and free of smudges to fill, the balls are ok, the fonts used for the realization are just enough (in other models the fonts used have a brighter color and that therefore the contrast with the black background is better).
The data compartment including magnifying lens is ok, maybe it always affects the problem of the font and its brilliance. The given compartment number is centered, the bracelet is of good quality, the closures provided by the Oyster are good and the glidelock slide seems to be sufficient when adjusting the size of the bracelet appropriate to your wrist.
I find a problem not just considering the factory and the expense : the rotating ring presents an unacceptable game and definitely unwelcome ! I avoid the water/pressure test as I already know that then I should put my hand to the 3135 and I absolutely dont' want. Chromalight is acceptable...
Tomorrow morning I run the test on the chrono-comparator and will follow updates.
After this stressful analysis I enclose some bad quality photos taken from my phone
To conclude .... $500 is a lot and maybe they don’t justify the small flaws I’m experiencing.
See you soon for further techiche following the chrono-comparator
