Ack! the PAM 112 I bought from DSN about 1 1/2 years ago has gone wonky. This is not good. I love this watch. If I lie the watch flat, it stops. Pick it up and hold it vertically, it starts. Lie it flat and it dies again. Very weird. What's going on--and yes, it is fully wound. I should mention that a couple of months after I bought it, I had to send it to Vac for a service because it suddenly gained time. He diagnoised a dirty movement. Ever since it has kept perfect time-'til today  It has a Swiss 6497 movement with swan neck. Thanks for your thoughts!

Have you recently dropped it, banged it, bumped it, boffed it, boinked it, slapped it, popped it, wacked it, wanked it, or otherwise molested it?
Occasionally we all need a reminder that these are detailed mechanical objects that can be made goofy by the above named actions.
Could be alot of things, still dirty, dirty again, any one of the above could have done something to the balance assembly...
Sounds like time to get it in for its bi-annual check-up!

I'm pretty careful with my watches and, in fact, discovered that it had stopped while I was napping on the couch. Thus to my knowledge it wasn't bumped. I suspoect you are probably right and I should just take it in to be cleaned or whatever it needs. I am willing to try my hand at a fix if the problem sounds like something that occurs regularly--and is fixable by a non-expert willing to tackle minor jobs.

Then I would suggest opening it and blowing some air into the general direction of the balance assembly. If this should result in the watch again working properly, then I think it would confirm that "something" has gotten in there and is floating around.
I posted the other day about a 164 that I have... Every couple days I actually need to open it up and play with the balance assembly. Then it runs for another couple days perfectly. Its a PITA, but I love the watch!

Is the spring stuckK I forget the name of the coiled wire aka spring but my watchsmith said sometimes they get hung up from "overservicing "lubrication and its possible it did that. Open the back up and gently use a blower brush to "unsticK" whatever might be causing it.
