Got this tuesday from Sean at etaswiss. Had some customsissues so the package was delayed about 10 days. I blame easter too.
I never liked the submersible models. But this is such a big old brutal watch, I instantly fell in love with it when I saw it. But it was steep. To steep for me at 11.500 usd. This is my first replica.
First, I must say it is a very well made watch. It is huge, both in hight and in weight. Not as wide as my XXL Railmaster, but it sure is a real beast. When I first got it, the bezelmarker at 12 o´clock was loose. Lost it. But found it using a good flashlight and setting the room dark. A neat trick actually. Glued it back on and I hope it will stay this way. It looks better on the watch than on the floor.
Look at that thickness. I love it.
Here you can see the HE valve and the datechanger (doesn´t work, you set the date with the wheel as usual).
Came with a real nice rubber band and a decent buckle. Wears quite comfortable considering its size. Might change to leather later on, but for now, I am pleased.
Another pic of the strap.
Did not know that it was swiss made! A nice surprise...
The back looks just like the real one, in my opinion.
The datewheel is wrong. It is set too deep. But it is okay, barely noticable if you look directly at the watch. The dust is on the glass, not on the datewheel. This picture really turned out bad.
Here is an uneven sizecomparison. It actually looks larger than the Railmaster and let me assure you, it is not.
My impression so far is very good. The quality seems alright. It runs about 25 seconds fast a day, not bad considering. Might even out a bit though, as I have experienced in the past. The watch has the asian 7750.
It is a hassle to set though. The minute hand doesn´t start moving until after about 30 seconds, so you will have to check and double-check to get the minute/second allignment perfect. I am pretty sure that I will get used to it soon though.
I am looking forward for more summer over here, it´s going to look good with a shortsleeved shirt. I hope you will all excuse my poor photographing skills, but poor quality pictures is better than no pictures at all...
Thanks for reading this far.
Take care,
Niclas from Sweden
