My Breitling dealer has a showcase with a selection of watches by U-Boat & TW Steel. They are primarily large round analog watches and I've never paid them much attention. On a slow day I went down to look at a TAG Senna he had and after having it sized it just did not feel right. It hung like a lump. Looked at a nice Ebel 1911 BTR he had with low mileage at a great price / chrono Caliber movement / SS with rubber bezel covering and black & red stitched croc. I tried it on and it just didn't do it for me.
I was almost ready to leave when this tank-style model caught my eye.
It instantly felt wonderful on my wrist and its $500 retail was not outrageous. He offered me a generous discount and I said sold! TW Steel is a small Dutch company using Japanese quartz movements by Citizen Miyota and the Swiss compnay Rhonda (the use Swiss movements in their automatic line) This CEO Goliath is one of their signature models and I really like it. Its quite elegant and it has wonderful wrist-feel. I only have a couple square watches so it made a nice addition to the collection. Nice packaging too.
Thumbs up for this GWUAG (Gen well under a grand)
