My new Fiddy with Gunny. Goody!

Fianlly got all ducks in a row: a DSN Ultimate Fiddy with Chinese, not Swiss, movement (thus perhaps more properly an 'Almost Ultimate Fiddy'. Then I bought my first strap from Peter Gunny for it. I must say that the combo is, in my estimation, truly wonderful. Davidsen was, as usual, easy and quick. Peter was a real gentleman who offered advice and extra information. I now see what all the fuss is about with his straps.

I originally thought the Fiddy was simply too big for my wrist, but it is fine--though nobody will deny it is a big sucker, and I love Davidson's crystal. The lume is great too, though my very best is the 112 I bought from him a couple of years ago. I strap it to the front of the car at night

Incidentally, what's the story of the real 'Fiddy' (I know about its recent naming). Does the '1950' on the dial indicate that the original was issued in that year and then reissued by Panerai? Further to that, is there a good book on Panerai. I'm forever bewildered by the numbering, and the pre-Vendome versus post-Vendome, and by all that nomenclature that you Paneristii roll off your pens with such ease. I need a book--with lots of pictures and explanations!

Looks very nice.. I"m a big fan of Gunny... I have a DSN PAM 24a on a Caitlin 4 strap and I'm waiting for a Le Cuir Noir for my 177H.... the grey strap and Titanium.. should look good...

Very nice combination. Gunny straps are awesome (I have two), but I hate waiting for them! Everything about this hobby requires patience, of which I have so little.

looks great, I got the swiss mvt one a year ago, and a few things has changed....- the lugs are better looking and the lume looks more crisp white as per gen, the older one is more green. you're a lucky man
