I've been drooling over a JM Daytona in Yellow Gold with that snazzy green dial for quite some time now. However, I've faced a relentless battle with the existing replica dials; none of them quite hit the mark. This includes the SW dial, which sadly, doesn't make the cut. CF comes close to the genuine article, especially with their latest iterations, but alas, it's still not perfect for a discerning AD client like myself. The main gripe? The subdials on the reps lack the boldness of the genuine ones—on the real McCoy, those outer subdials are like pop stars under stage lights; they really stand out in varied lighting conditions.
But lo and behold, after months of hunting high and low, I struck gold! I discovered a manufacturer in Barcelona crafting dials that meet the genuine specifications for this elusive model. They charge a cool 695 euros, and it's all made to order. Now, as I stand at the crossroads of decision-making in the early stages of this build, I'm juggling options on which base model to use. In one corner, I have a pristine, new old stock Noob—practically a legend among reps. And in the other, the CF version beckons. I've also toyed with the idea of the QF gain weight version, though I'm not completely sold on its movement. Perhaps a Frankenstein move is in order? Procure the QF and transplant the Noob's heart into it? Decisions, decisions!
I'll post more updates as I go along.
