My Hublot Rose Gold Skeleton Tourbillon updated with RG caseback
Ever since one of my friends showed me their tourbillon replica watches, I've had my eye on them for a very long time. Hublot tourbillon replicas have gone through many iterations, most of them carrying a similar design with some cosmetic differences.
Besides the same design, one of the things that bothered me was how the center of the hands was shifted up on the watch.
When the Hublot King Power Manufacture Tourbillon replica came out, it was the first one that I was considering. Because of the 48mm size, the dial and tourbillon looked equally weighed on the watch, plus on it's own, in my opinion (others thought it was rather ugly), it looked awesome to me.
But I'm glad I waited out just a bit longer.
When the Hublot RG Skeleton Tourbillon came out, my jaw dropped to the floor! I've seen the real Houblot Rose Gold Minute Repeater Tourbillon, there are a TONNE of differences between the genuine and the replica. Even still, I couldn't help but be completely drawn to how beautiful of a watch it was on it's own... replica or not.
The only thing that I felt could have been improved on that watch was replacing the ceramic black bezel with a Rose Gold one, to look more like the genuine. I ordered an extra gold bezel, and WOW, what a difference it makes.
It took a while after I got the watch before I went to do the photos. I went to take it in for an oiling service, in which the watchsmith/repair guy was telling me how well built this watch was. Then I wanted to wear it for a while to see what others thought of it.
Reactions from other people were also amazing. Everyone who noticed it, loved it. Even those people at work who complain that I buy too many watches... they didn't complain this time.
Loved:
- The beautiful skeleton tourbillon movement. Both front and back sides.
- The Rose Gold Bezel that replaced the brushed black ceramic bezel. The rose gold gives it a coppery antique machinery feel.
- The reactions from everyone!
- The reactions when they see the price of the genuine!
Could improve:
- The black plastic seat that the bezel sits on. Too bad they didn't make it in rose gold.
- The rose gold crown is slightly different color than the bezel and casing.
- Too bad that the center of the dial is slightly shifted up. But it doesn't seem as noticeable in the skeleton.
- Wanted to get a rose gold caseback as well, we'll see if I can eventually source it.
Overall
My favorite watch in my collection so far. It totally stands out compared to all the other Hublots that I have. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in a tourbillon watch.
Thanks for reading my impressions. I have a few photos to share, hopefully some more to come!!!
TAKEN WITH HUBLOT DUTCHY!! Love the combination!!

FINALLY, to complete this project, I finally was able to replace the standard PVD coated steel version to the rose gold version.
