The whole point of GS in my opinion is to have a super high quality timepiece with precision technology (9F quartz, spring drive, hi-beat etc) with special polishing and finishing. Not sure how any rep factory will be able to replicate this.
I might be biased since I own 3 gen GS but anyway

My humble opinion that GS watches are built better than most Swiss competitors. I used to own two, the older snowflake and the 2019 Spring Seasons SBGA413. They are exquisite, and impossible to rep.

Do not exaggerate
I had 5 GS (4 vintages and a new one). Ok the Chinese are not going to make a spring drive, but snowflake dials or zaratsu polishing are within the reach of good factories.

In my humble opinion the rep of the GS in the OP's first post of pictures is not very good and screams fake.

Ok. This one isn’t very good. But.

over on the seiko mod sites we are beginning to see a bunch of pretty solid quality GS cases. Movement aside you could see a reasonable head unit eventually.


as for spring drive and 38k movement…the precisionist movement would be a fantastic platform for the two (heck anything greater than 28k would look good). Supply in those movements though has always seemed limited to citizen watches though.

No the best rep, but it's the only GS rep I've seen. I'd buy a half decent GS rep for sure. I imagine they'd be far less doubtable, too, in knowledgable company (well, the entry level models anyway).
