Hi all. As i am new to the site I thought I would upload some pics of my grand carrera 36's. The Silver one is from when i was in Thailand. As a noob i thought it was a pretty good rep, however the build quality comapred to my newer one isnt as good.

The silver one looks to be a quartz miyota movement, but to be fair hasn't lost time in almost a year.

After a month or so i lost one of the screws for the silver tab, whcih meant that tab went missing. Now i am left with an incompete watch. does anyone know where i can get one?

The deyploment clasp seems pretty solid and hasnt given up at all

My next one is the black one. This was purchased through a non TD, and after purchase I decided to do some research on watcharoo.net (a little late) and couldnt really find great reviews. So i was a little hesitant if it would show up or that the quality would be questionable.

To my surprise it arrived in good time, with a rep montblanc pen.

Quality seems really solid, the overall feel is good quality and again, has been accurate since i've had it.

This side metal plates look to be attached differently than my other one, hopefully these won't go walkies!

Deployment clasp looks great in the outer black

The rear cover doesnt look quite like the gen, as the lettering on the gen isnt white, and it doesnt have the model number or the serial on my rep, but still i do like the glass back.

Well its the start of my collection, I'm sure in the future i will start to spend real money, but my most recent only cost 129 dollars, for that price I'm happy. One day I will spend the money to get better movements, but for now I'm starting to get a good collection, albeit on a budget.

What are your thoughts everyone?

Great review! I am especially interested in the last watch here (black face with rubber strap). Where did you get this one? I want one too, it looks awesome!

If you are interested in quartz, here is mine:

I bought it from Watcheden about one year ago and paid it only $128. I think it's pretty good deal and it's an awesome watch for this price. I'm really happy with it and it's my daily watch until I don't get something more accurate. PAM is first on the list. :) I hope this helps.

Sorry I made a mistake. My Omega was from Watcheden and this Carrera was from timesshop.net. Here it is:

You also have similar version on Watcheden but it's a bit more expensive and not as accurate as from timesshop (white ''Tag Heuer'', white date wheel and ''caliper scale'' wheel)

Wow these are quite affordable! I had no idea. Andrew has these listed for $418 on his website so I was under the impression they were insanely expensive

Yes, but this version is probably with 7750 automatic movement and these are expensive at every TD's just like most of reps out there. Ours are low-end reps with quartz movement and this makes a huge difference. I think there isn't a lot of people here that have this cheap quartz version because of it's accuracy and mvmt but if you are looking for nice and cheap watch, I think this is great one for begin with this hobby just like I did. If you will like it so much, you can get 7750 in future. I was also thinking to get 7750 version but I started to read a PAM section and now I'm only looking for PAMs. Just waiting for the first one. :)

I was always wondering how the flaps are fixed on the strap. Looks very fragile. I also lost a screw before but replaced it right aways. So nothing lost yet. But I also gotta say that I´m not wearing mine a lot. Wonder how the original´s is fixed.
The first one you showed was also my first holiday in Asia replica. Back then i also thought it looked good but after some more research and experience I now can say it´s crap and cheap haha. Expecially the silver metal parts look aweful. My current one is alike your second as well. With japanese quartz moviement. Looks very solid, runs well for years. Very good watch for the price. ( I paid about 70) Only problem with it is the Grand Carrera text wich is wrong. Too large and to low/ close to the metal part.
