Mine is the D13322 when i bought it 20+ years ago you could build the watch from the catalogue and the order it from the jewellers so i specked the 18k gold bezel the black and gold face, gold hands
leather strap and folding clasp it was a great experience like buying a new car you cant do it now its just get what they offer

Your purchase process is fascinating. I bought mine in the US Virgin Islands on vacation about 20 plus years ago. Significantly less than buying them in the USA.

yer i wish i had bought a submariner at the same time i worked at an Audi garage at the time and the owner of the jewellers was a customer that we always gave good price deals too so he gave me 40% discount off the purchase price mine is worth more than i paid but a submariner is probably worth over three times as much as mine now if only we could see into the future !

You would have sold it even before the price doubled. To see into the future is not enough, you also need the retrospective view FROM the future. It's the same with bitcoin and some stocks. Brother I would be very rich now if I got 100 bucks for every person telling me that he would be millionaire now if he still had the bitcoins bought 8 years ago for 7 dollars. And they always forget that they would have sold at 1000 dollars to save earnings, if they didn't sold then they would have sold as it was at 5000 Dollar already and then in one night fell to 4000 dollar.

The "present-you" is always concerned about loosing earnings and will sell immediately if you fear, the 20% higher price 18 years ago could fall to 0%.

Remember, the story of people selling a daytona of the 50s for some million dollars is in most cases the story of old people that forgot the watch or their children finding it after they died. The moment you realize that you could even make profit with selling a USED watch is th emoment you should say good-bye to such a cinderella story :D
