Hello All, my first post in the PAM section.... and I'm guessing it wont be my last.

If I'm honest, I didn't see the attraction for the brand at first, but then I was the same with AP and Hublot (I'm a slow learner ;)). I thought my first PAM would either be the 111 or 112, but that was until in a totally unrelated thread I saw an avatar picture of what I now know to be the Luminor GMT PAM88.... I've checked Ale's PAM guide and was happy to see it was classed as a Super REP...get in.

before I take the leap, can I just confirm with you lovely people that the NOOB version is still the best option for this model

Thank you afdaddy for your suggestion. I looked at the 89 and 237 as well, but preferred the 88 dial... but there is always room for more than one :)
Hmm, I cannot say I know for sure, but look for ALEs Pam reviews that should have a listing of the super rep for each model.

If like the look of the PAM088, I'd suggest you check out the PAM089E, the Ti version with the anthracite dial. The anthracite dial is gorgeous in person and Ti case makes it wear a lot lighter.

thank you karesz501 for the conformation, I've brought a few watches from toro now and its been a painless experience each time.
The noob 088 is AWESOME! Buy with confidence, and toro is a very good dealer as well ;)

Are there any Mods or Parts that i should look into or is it just a great watch out of the box?

I would look for a nice OEM gator strap, it really makes a difference. Apart from that, its SUPER!

Are the OEM PAM straps as hard to get hold of as the AP ones? do you need serial and model numbers etc?

They are pretty available, lots for sale over on Paneristi.com, EBay and on the rep forums. Also many very nice aftermarket makers offering genuine Alligator straps as well.

Should the strap come with metal tubes in the end? or is that only on certain straps?
