My first Pam...

SO I am in search for my first Pam. I cant afford to spend too much right now on one, so I was looking at the Pam111h (on trustytime), its $158. Now is this a good FIRST Pam rep? I dont plan on modding it, just a different strap.
OR should I wait and save some more $ for Pam111G (with the swan neck Swiss 6497) for $328?

I know little to nothing about Pam Reps, I am a Breitling junkie, I just like how the 111 and 177 look, and LOVE the sandwich dial, but I am going to wait to pickup a 177 until i can afford to find a modded 177.

SO anyone, please point me in the right direction, I dont want to make the wrong purchase.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

Get the cheap one first (on Silix) for first PAM rep. Less than 100 bucks. Then you see if you really like the watch.

I emailed Silix a few days ago, and emailed them again today, no response. I dont mind spending $158, plus I've order many other watches with Andrew, I just wanted to see if that 111h was worth picking up for my first Pam.

opinion is yes, 111 nice, one have one happy

can get good price from Ruby..

as for rep dealers no giving instant response.. is not uncommon

here is often place where patience is learned.. whether wanted or no...

at any rate, good luck to you with world of Panerai!

I really want one with a rubber "PAM" strap, and I will purchase a leather strap later for it! Thats why I want to buy off of Trusty.

Are any of the vendors in the USA? I ask this because of the shipping time, sometimes it takes a really long time from China.

Okay, found a slightly modded PAM104 for sale.

Would a PAM104 be a nice "STARTER" PAM? Any comments about it for my first one?

It's more than a nice starter. If you get the latest version, it's very close to the genuine. It comes with Automatic Asian7750 hi beat movement without the chronograph module.

I think the 111h's are all the same at this price point. I would go with Silix and save yourself 50 bucks. I got mine just over a week ago. Im happy with it :D . Ive spotted my next strap for it, the rep straps that come with them arent that great but there are some great ones available from these boards which really make the watch look the part.

Good luck if you decide on the 104 though :) - Im new to Panerai's myself so am unsure what it looks like (/runs off to have a look......)

Go with a dealer here and you can't miss. Prices vary. My first and last PAM was DSN 111h. It's a PITA to wind it but I guess that's part of the charm. Go for an Automatic, less tinkering if you will wear it regularly. The PAM nut's here won't steer you wrong.
