Used to hate them but now I see the light 8)

So I'm thinking about this watch:

http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=956

PAM112 Swiss movement

Beautiful isn't it?

I see the dial there is no L Swiss L or anything like that, is that how it is supposed to be?

If I were to buy this watch, which mods would I have to do (besides lume) to make it look at its best? )I'm trying to get in the mod game :D )

Thanks guys appreciate the help in advance

since it's your first pam....why don't you start with asian version which is a lot cheaper than swan neck version....

honestly.....i don't see the point of having swan neck dagger for $100+ more....

and i heard that even those swiss version's swan necks are not funtionable anyway.....they are there for the look....

BUT then again~ it's your watch and your money~ so it's totally your call~

good luck! make sure to post some pictures when you get it!

I'm trying hard to see the light.... but then again, I really like Breitlings, and some find them gaudy.

@jiro thanks for the advice man! You are probably right the problem is there is no asian with sandwich dial, and I love the sandwich look!

BTW do you know if it should have the L SWISS L below the swiss because the watch in the link doesn't seem to have it.

@cd Don't get me wrong man I love Breits they are cool 8) but you gotta admire the simplicity of PAMs, they are sooo simple they stand out

Thanks guys

Yes, it should have "L SWISS MADE L" if it's sandwich dial and "L SWISS L" if it is a sausage dial.

I love base PAMs as well...

here is a link to some popular PAM models:
http://www.thewatchquote.com/The-Panera ... o_4092.htm

The only 112 I'm familiar with is the sausage dial type with the L SWISS L
Here are some things to consider:

1. Jiro is right....there are some nice asian 6497 PAMs...most however do not come with AR nor sapphire
2. I think the sausage dial L SWISS L are more accurate looking than the sandwich L SWISS MADE L models
For instance the L SWISS MADE L on the 111/177 are really squished to the "6"
The cutouts for the sandwich dial sometimes don't look right

If you're in the US have you considered asking TWP.

Thanks guys

Problem is I'm not in the US, so I gues TWP is outta the question, right?

Maybe I should ask the dealer if the actual watch has the L Swiss bla bla on the dial, maybe he hasn't updated his pics

Anyway I think I like this base PAM to much, and maybe it is even better not to have L swiss bla bla on a sandwich dial that to have it all squished to the "6", what do you guys think?

Even if it does have the L swiss... what mods should I (try to) perform on this watch to make it look awesome 8)

Thanks

For accuracy sake:
1. sausage, L SWISS L in my opinion is better than sandwich, L SWISS MADE L squished on the "6"
2. both will have pin recession problem unless it comes from davidsen
a. pin recession problem on an asian 6497 seems that it can simply be fixed by replacing the hands with davidsen's
hands
b. pin recession problem on swiss 6497 seems that its fixed by modders that know how to change out the pin with an
appropriate pin to get the flushed look
3. lume will most likely suck
a. need to get a lume job...either do it yourself or ship it to Ziggy, Vaccum, or Flavor
--------------------

4. For more mods, you may consider getting a thicker crown from Palp, maybe a different crown guard
5. Also know...that if you have a glass caseback, one look at the movement from a PAM person and they're going to
know its a rep

This is my limited knowledge...I'm sure the PAM experts can ring in on this.

Or is there no base PAM with an accurate caseback?
