My first Pam AND new Gunny strap

Firstly thanks to everyone here on RWI who posts all the great info on reps! I've been reading and researching for a few years now, have purchased a few reps, and now I've moved into the Panerai rep owners club!

I finally bought my first Pam from Watcheden and shortly thereafter placed an order with Gunny for a strap to put on her. I already started to fall in love with the Pam as soon as I got it even with the rep strap, but now that I put the new strap on it...WOW! It's true that a strap can really make the watch!

I ended up getting a Caitlin 2 with black stitching and am VERY satisfied. It is nice and chunky and is finished beautifully. Next strap I purchase I may adjust the size for each side of the strap so that the face of the watch will hopefully sit more towards to center of my wrist (it tends to want to twist a bit pushing the face towards the outside), but overall I am thrilled. I have a 7.25" wrist and after consulting Peter (very easy to deal with and he was a great help) we decided on a 135/85 with him supplying the buckle. Next time I may adjust it a bit to a 135/95 to make the buckle side of the strap a bit longer hopefully helping the face of the watch move more to the center of my wrist.

It's my first time taking wristie's so my pics may be a bit blurry, but I wanted to at least show off this bad-ass strap and at the same time hopefully help anyone else who is contemplating using Gunny as their custom strap dealer.

I've posted comparison shots of the Pam on both a rep strap and the Gunny strap...

I'm tellin ya I haven't seen any straps that compare. I'm no strap expert but I am super picky and I couldn't find one that makes such a statement like this strap does. I expect it to only get better as it gets beat up and worn. And it's true like they say, the pics do it no justice. What's funny is I paid more for the strap that I did the watch! Lol. It's not the best rep but looks worth waaaay more than what I paid for the whole package!

Looks great on that strap! My wrist size is about 7.25 inches too. I usually order my PAM straps in 120/80. I find they fit better and don't have all the extra "tongue".....which some folks like....I don't though. :)

Sounds about right, Fiddo. I usually order 130/85 and I have 7.5" wrists. I could actually do 125/85 with no problem, too. I like where the buckle sits on my wrist with 85mm on the short side.

Great watch and strap, MD!

Strap? Huge! If someone tried to steal the watch you could club them with it. Nice.

MacDaddy, can you advise what model you got from Watcheden, is it solid built?
thanks

Looks great on the Gunny. One of the softest out there too.

I've only had it about a month, but as far as I can tell it's solid. Now of course it is a rep which some would want to mod to make the small differences match the gen better, but for right now those things don't bother me. The majority of people I know have not even heard of a Panerai, much less would know what too look for. It's up to personal preference and how much work and money you want to put into one. Of course that's the case with any rep. I am very happy with my purchase! :)

Thanks! It's my first custom strap (I've had reps before) and I can't imagine it looking or feeling any better on my wrist.

Hello all -

PAM312. The stem broke on this watch and I'm looking to buy and replace the stem myself. I've already extracted the broken one, but I'm having a difficult time finding the correct replacement. My main issue is I no longer remember what movement this watch came with. I'm thinking it may be a cheap Asian 21 jewel or I need a stem similar to that in a Miyota.
I tried a stem for a Valjoux 7750 - size Tap 10 and the threads were too big. I figure I need Tap 11 or 12.

Can anyone help me identify the movement, and possible direct me to a good place to find a new stem?

Below are a few pics of the movement and the broken stem.

Thanks!

Might want to remove the rotor or include a pic of both sides of the movement, but looks like a Seagull maybe?

Used the "Way Back Machine" archive to check the Watch Eden listing from 2010 (surprised that was archived, actually) and it is listed as a "21J" so not much help there really.

Sure thing, here's the other side.

Yes 21J, I remember that now. I was thinking of buying a kit of many various stems as long as I knew the stem I would need would be in there, but I'm having trouble narrowing down to which one I'd need. Thanks for trying to help!

Why is the crown guard upside down?
